I don't know how the verdict will come out and what really happened but it seems pretty obvious to me that Zimmerman is lying about at least some aspects of what happened that night. He'd been better off not saying anything and asking for a lawyer than lying. Big mistake. If I had to guess I'd say manslaughter conviction but considering the horrible performance by some of the prosecution witnesses an acquittal would not surprise me. Just glad there was a trial.

Just as an aside, whites are 13 times more likely to be murdered by a black offender than the reverse (ie black victim of a white offender). And for every one instance of a white offender killing a black victim, there are 12.6 times as many instances in which both the offender and victim were black. These stats are based 0n 2011 FBI data.
