The Rockets can't get better one with Asik and Lin's contract.

That is cute and I'm not a LOVER OF LIN, but would you rather have a cocky guard come in and run it the way he wants and jacks up shots when he wants and pisses off the Coach, Harden & Howard when he wants? Nah I'll pass on that type of pg

They were a good backcourt pairing last year, and theres no reason to think they won't develop further this year. I hope Lin can go up another gear, just to help take a bit more pressure off Harden (given we already got Dwight).

teammates like jeremy because he is unselfish. and i don't think jeremy feels taken advantage of. he's not naive, he graduated harvard. rather he's more about the team and winning. that's the pg a team should want.

funny thing is people here often criticize him for not being assertive enough, for not trying to score more, or for not standing up against coaching decisions...

forget asik's offensive production. can asik still grab 10 boards playing 25 minutes? I think he can. so many combinations to throw at teams that like mixing it up.

As long as Jeremy works on his shooting all offseason, I'm fine with keeping him.

He needs to be at 37% or higher to start.

Translation: James and Dwight want to play with Jeremy and Omer until we find somebody better for them to play with. Jeremy and Omer will be here for sure until we get some trade offers better than the crappy ones we got so far.

I'm sure if Morey acquired LA then both Dwight and Harden would be doing backflips over the deal. Asik is gonna be here unless there is a clear upgrade in the works.

That's good news as I think besides Aldridge or Love our team wouldn't get stronger from those two being dealt.

Also I think tjones on dmo have a chance to both be good players with varying skill sets so that they compliment each other as well.

Re: Asik and Lin, I'd bring both off the bench.

    Bev, Harden, Parsons, Tjones, Howard

    Backed up by

    Lin, Garcia, Dmo, Asik

I think that could be a really solid rotation with players that compliment each other.

Then you have Canaan, G Smith, and Casspi that could work their way in or provide Sven more rest for guys or just be thrown in due to match ups and what we need on any given night.

It would awesome if Dwight pushed for Lin to be the PG over Harden. I can see McHale and Harden going along with it.

Many teams want to sign Lin or Asik if their contract is about 5M and not a poison pill.

    Morey made it difficult.

Now, they know they are not involved in the long team plan of Rockets.

The poison pill only applies to the team that we stole the player from. The salary cap hit is an average of their contract.

Lin is grateful to be in the league. That's not a joke or trolling. This Chinese kid works hard and is in fact grateful to be in the league. Not grateful enough to proffer a contract way below his market value or volunteer to sit on the bench when he has the numbers to start (which makes me very angry and stretches my patience with him... but I think I can deal with it because of Howard) but he's grateful. Not least because not every fan base would be magnanimous enough to accept the existence of a starting point guard paid around the league average salary the past two years.

There's no reason why Howard wouldn't want Lin on the team. The kid throws lobs for dunks, runs the pick and roll, and none of his ridiculous $8 million payout comes out of Howard's max money fund for skittles and gumballs.

I gave this thread 5 stars. Because it's a 5 star thread. Tomorrow I will give that thread 5 stars.

That's fantastic news on the team chemistry front.

Dwight didn't demand a trade, and he isn't pushing anyone out of his way to join.

He saw the potential of this team and the great atmosphere and wanted to be a part of it, not change it.
