Okay first of all, you don't seem to have your facts straight. It sounds like your saying that GZ basically shot TM because he looked like he was on drugs. That is simply not the case. If you've followed this case, you'd know that the biggest debate is that Z was acting in defense. The evidence even proves this. The lacerations and bruises to the nose and skull is proof that this is true. Besides guns don't kill people, people kill people. You even said it yourself (bolded statement). The "wanna be cop" killed Trayvon. The gun itself didn't kill Trayvon. Zimmerman pulled the trigger..

Was it ever really disputed he wasn't patrolling as part of his neighborhood watch duties? I'm not asking rhetorically. I am pretty sure if he was just hanging out in his car in his neighborhood he was doing the watch.

    1. A six-foot man's thighs are about two feet long, so TM's knees up by GZ's armpits would have him straddling GZ's waist. Sitting on GZ's armpits literally would put you on top of his chest and chin. No one pins someone that way. You can hardly throw a punch.

You are saying that your clothes naturally hang this far from your body? That is unnatural and I daresay impossible without artificial airflow.

Is this supposed to be some kind of ad-hoc ruler?

I'm not sure if you're serious about this, but the distance between those points will vary depending on screen resolution, etc.

You have to also take into account that it was raining, the heavy material of a sweat shirt would stay much closer to the body when wet . There is no other logical conclusion other than Martin was positioned over Zimmermen when the shot was fired .

Oh I know but it approximates 2-4 inches on most screens. I didn't want to leave it up to the imagination how far even 2-4 inches is. Even with the smallest resolution (other than phone) it's an unnatural distance away for something to drape away from the body-- unless you are a chick sporting 54 KKs or wearing an air condiitoner.

Univ. Of Miami Professor At NAACP Event: If Justin Bieber Dressed Like Trayvon He Wouldn’t Have Been Killed, “Unmistakable Issue Of Racism”…

The left is going to squeeze in every last ounce of race baiting they can before the verdict.

    http://miami.cbslocal.com/2013/07/11/local-pastors-meeting-with-mdpd-ahead-of-zimmerman-verdict/

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Local pastors will meet with Miami-Dade Police in two local churches Thursday to talk about the impending verdict from the George Zimmerman murder trial in Sanford, Florida.

One meeting will be held at the Peaceful Zion Missionary Baptist Church at 2400 NW 68th Street in Miami and the other will be held at the Martin Memorial AME Church at 14700 Lincoln Blvd. [...]

Wednesday night, the Miami-Dade chapter of the NAACP brought together community leaders at the New Harvest Missionary Baptist Church.

University of Miami law professor Donald Jones said the Zimmerman case reflects a massive racial divide in the country.

“If Justin Bieber was wearing a hoodie, throwing gang signs, wearing gold, have a tattoo, but no one is going to shoot him on his way home from the 7-11,” said Jones. “I think there is an unmistakable issue of racism.”

New Black Panthers Planning “Rallies And Street Maneuvers” For Zimmerman Verdict…

    Holder’s peeps.

    Via Washington Times:http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/jul/12/new-black-panther-party-coy-rallies-and-street-man/

New Black Panther Party members are prepping for rallies and gatherings in the wake of the George Zimmerman murder trial, but are coy on whether violence, riots and other chaotic outbursts are potential — or welcome — offshoots of those events.

On one hand, NBPP members promise on their Twitter site that they will not engage in any sort of unlawful outbursts if second-degree murder suspect George Zimmerman’s trial ends in a not-guilty verdict.

The pertinent tweet: “All over the nation in case Zimmerman is exonerated … we will engage in no unlawful activity.”

But on the other hand, the group’s Twitter site is alive and kicking with fresh updates about a planned Sept. 7 rally to show solidarity with 17-year-old shooting victim Trayvon Martin — complete with admissions: “We can’t and WON’T try to control the general dissatisfied population. For sure we are ORGANIZING.”

That tweet included a photo of a flier for the NBPP’s Millions for Trayvon youth march, set for early September at the Adam Clayton Powell Jr. State Office Building in New York.

And at least one member of the NBPP has headed down to the Florida site of Mr. Zimmerman’s trial — to do what, isn’t specified.

The tweet: “I’ll be making my way to Florida for post-verdict activities. Can’t sit this one out.”

A series of tweets posted in the same time frame reference the potential for post-trial violence — and the NBPP’s attitude toward that likelihood.

If Zimmerman is acquitted there is likely to be unrest all over America. It will be way beyond the capacity of the NBPP,” the tweet read.

I'd guess that is probably true. Part of the reason Zimmerman was concerned about TM was that black teenagers had recently attempted break ins in the neighborhood.

No way of knowing that way for sure.

Bob, people here seem to be cooling down on the racist issue but you keep bringing up articles that start it all over again. Please stop.

Zimmerman should be able to make the state of Florida pay his defense bill. The chief of police didn't want to file charges. The lead investigator didn't want to file charges. And the elected DA didn't want to file charges. Charges should have never been filed. It was open and shut self defense.

Your racial bias remains strong here.

Any human can defend himself when it's necessary. Your liberal mindset is a disease.

Why didn't TM run? No one can answer that. He's a skinny black kid. He would have bolted so fast and been out of sight so fast GZ would have never had a chance to catch him. But NO, he CONFRONTED & ATTACKED (ILLEGAL) GZ who was walking behind him (LEGAL).

You left out the fact that TM could have taken off running but decided to confront and assault GZ. If not for TM actions, HE WOULD STILL BE ALIVE. You play stupid games, you win stupid prizes. If this "creepy white cracks" is freaking you out, THEN DON'T CONFRONT HIM. Run the other way.

I knew the "corruption" and "incompetence" talk wouldn't take long. It's here before the verdict is even read.

    1. So you are saying that GZ is lying about what happened? GZ is the one who claimed TM was straddling him up around the armpits. If you believe that GZ is lying about what happened, you'd need to ask why, and what motive would he have. Either way it doesn't look good for his self defense.

    2. I know how far 2-4 inches. I got a ruler and double checked it. Yes, my sweatshirt (depending on how I move my arms, how straight I'm standing up etc.) can hang 2-4 inches from skin. That might be even more so if it was wet from the rain.

Who was stalking who? The man was stalking and pursuing the boy. Non-negotiable. Therefore, it's pretty reasonable to suggest the person instigating the pursuit was the person who instigated the confrontation. In any case, when some man is following you in the dark, you have the right to defend yourself. Confronting said person or running away, either way. Of course, none of that has to happen, nor would have happened if the man did not stalk the boy. This entire situation was instigated by the man, and there is zero denying that. If the man does not stalk the boy, the boy is alive today. Period. To suggest that, even if the boy did confront the man, that it is somehow his fault when he was being stalked, is just asinine.

The one thing everyone should be able to agree upon in this case is that the Police Department who handled responding to and investigating this incident did a really crappy job. That is not a very controversial assertion.

The ELECTED DA didn't want to file charges either.

I guess people will never get it through their head (especially those making a racial issue out of it) that ANYONE can walk BEHIND ANYONE (stalking in its legal sense doesn't apply here, but I understand your context) and it's isn't illegal. It doesn't matter in this case. It's a mute point. Also doesn't matter if he was "racial profiling." That isn't illegal either. The police are the only ones who can't racial profile. In this case, from the moment an assault happens, it doesn't much matter what leads up to it. GZ could have been making "yo momma" jokes. He could have been carrying a loud boom box with racist music blaring. He could have been yelling racial slurs. GZ could do anything he wanted to do. He was walking behind TM on the same sidewalk. It's a non issue and I can't believe we're still talking about it. TM walked up and approached GZ (based on 911 tapes).

You CAN'T physically DEFEND yourself against someone FOLLOWING you. If TM hadn't been killed he would be facing charges of assault.
