After Dwight signs and the cap is set around the final (for now) roster, the team would be able to make trades within the normal CBA rules.

So, actually yes you could get Aldridge in trade by sending out something like Asik, Jones, picks, etc. as long as the salaries were within a certain range of each other its permitted.... it doesn't have to be dollar for dollar.

I'm actually a little surprised that "LA has always been a player associated with the Rockets." That's never been in the public arena, but perhaps that's just how Aldridge likes to opperate.

Doc tweeted something the other day to the affect of "If someone asked me: "if you could add one....." Lamarcus Aldridge all day".

Also going back through his tweets, he's talked about a SnT for a week now.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong because I am far from a cap specialist but what you are saying is we can go over the cap in a trade for LA after we get Dwight locked down? I remember reading that Les said he would definitely go over the cap to win.

I think this means we could send.

DMO, Asik and Tjones (along with foreign prospects (Llull), draft picks and $$) to PDX for Aldridge. This seems like a trade both sides would do.
