There is no possibility of this happening unless everyone takes a major paycut. The big three in Miami happened because they all agreed to take around 18 million a season to start. Now they are elgible to supermax contracts which won't fit under the salary cap.

Is this Blinebury article what you read? I think he's just desperate for some page hits.

If this is the rumor being spread around then the L.A. media is really trying to act like their team is still relevant. It's pathetic! Please, like LeBron is going to leave Miami to play with a broken down Kobe Bryant for 1 or 2 seasons and Carmelo is going to leave his post as the King of New York to play second or third fiddle to the Prince of L.A. What a joke!

Media: "Hey! Hey! I know we just lost the best Center in the league for nothing but in 2 years we will have a Super Team better than ANYONE! Yeah! We're still the best! Hey! Hey! You listening to us?!! We're still the best!! AAAHHHHH!!!"

I'd be curious how bad that team would be.

Yep. As you all know, I follow LeBron very closely and have some connections with one of his people. There has been talk that he wants to go to Cleveland when he opts out next year, but if they can't make it happen he will stay in Miami. The one thing about LeBron that not too many people know is that after he lost in the finals to Dallas he got some mental/emotional coaching. The main thing he was taught and he practices this daily is to live in the moment and not look to far in the future and never look in the past. So due to that he really hasn't even thought about what he will do when he opts out, so nobody really knows for sure, including him but he does love Cleveland and Cleveland is where he will be when he retires, so it's got to be in the back of his mind to go back there if at all possible.

LeBron isn't going to cleveland any more than Dwight Howard is going to Orlando.

How can you say that? LeBron loves Cleveland.

Not really, Kobe is old and Melo doesn't help you win in the playoffs. Both are terrible chuckers that kill ball movement and have questionmarks on defense.

With Wade&Bosh you have a solid guard/big combo. Both play defense, rebound, defend and are able to run the floor. Wade slahes and posts up while Bosh gives you brilliant spacing.

These two are a way better duo for a team to build around than Kobe&Melo, no question in my opinion.

Based on the volume and bricks Kobe and Melo will shoot, Lebron might never get an assist again

Didn't Kobe dog LeBron for "teaming up" in Miami?? Saying he would never do that sort of thing.

And LeBron wouldn't help Kobe get ring #6.

Lebron can play with anybody, but I cannot think of a worse pairing of superstars than Kobe and Melo.

This.... an old, broken down Kirby at 35 years doesn't really scare me.... plus he will take away shots from a vastly superior LBJ.

Melo will be complaining he isn't getting 30 shots a game before the all star break and LBJ will check out and quit on that group by the time the playoffs start.

Less than 1% chance? I think we can all agree that this won't happen, but it IS possible due to the Lakers' cap space in 2014 - only person on contract is Nash.

Seems laughable to me. Kobe and Melo play essentially the same offensive role for their respective teams, and it's where they're comfortable: ball-dominating wings.

Lebron is playing that role (and much more) with Miami. I think Lebron would like, just once, to play with a really, really good distributor. Wade is an underrated passer, but he's breaking down so badly now.

But why would he want to go to what would make the most clogged ball-stopping offense in the history of basketball? Can you imagine it? No matter who was coaching, if you had Kirby and Melo on the same court, you would have to call the offensive scheme "blue ball."
