Knicks to limit Amar'e Stoudemire's minutes next season

Head coach Mike Woodson was asked to limit Amar’e Stoudemire’s minutes last season, which created some friction with the star forward in the Playoffs. Woodson says that he’ll be under similar orders in 2013-’14 from his New York Knicks bosses. Per the NY Post: “The Knicks had talked about a 20-minute cap limit on the forward, and they also discussed limiting his playing in back-to-back games. ‘Right now, as it stands, he’s going to be on some restrictions,’ Woodson said. ‘What those restrictions will be, I don’t know yet.’ Woodson said the Knicks are taking a new approach to Stoudemire this offseason, having him rest all summer instead of working out. ‘The main thing with Amar’e, he needed rest,’ Woodson said. ‘Last summer, he put in a lot of time. He worked his [butt] off last summer.’”

I feel bad for Amare, pretty much everything went to ***** once Melo came to NY. The season before that was an MVP caliber one for him.

Not only did they waste it on Chauncey they did it after picking up his team option for the season. Good job Knicks!

I've been wrong on a lot of Rockets predictions during my fandom, but guessing Amare would become an albatross of a contract was certainly not one of them. To think Morey was getting destroyed my many people when he refused to trade Scola/Battier for Amare 5 years ago.

I mean when he signed the deal people said his knees were bad, but that first year with the knicks before Melo came, Amare was a BEAST. I don't know how he played so well then just fell off
