Thats a loser mentality to do so at his age. Him having hope of that starting job will make him work harder along with jones and D-mo. Competition is great especially for young players. One of them will emerge and take hold of that spot. Let it be earned not given

That should make us number one in summer league right?

He has terrible handle, and still, plays point-forward in SL. He's slow in moving, and slow in release the ball, bad defense.

    All I see is overrating.

Box score says 2 for 6. And at least two of them went down, and rimmed out. So it wasnt as bad as it looks. They were open looks so its not like he was forcing it either.

He had like 7 or 8 assists too. I hope he is our starter. He can stretch the floor and then take most of his defenders off the dribble if they close out too hard. After that he can finish at the rim or dish for an open look. Only negative was the turnovers but I think that was a product of him trying to do too much on a team where he is obviously the man. Shouldnt be a problem during the reg season.

Covington also impressed me. Good all around game and above average defense. Could be the wing defender we need.

He has terrible handle for a playmaker. But he should never be a playmaker with our squad with the exception of some transitional situations. For a PF his handles are good.

he is capable of big TO games. He had 5 TOs on Sunday. Really needs to do a better job taking care of the ball. His game still has a lot of maturing to do. The raw athleticism and skill are there, but he needs another year of consistent playing time before we are talking starter.

I think Jones will put it together eventually (maybe even over the 2nd half of this season), but i think i've seen enough to know that he's probably not a viable starting option at the 4 to start the season. Hopefully DMo has made some strong progress because we are running out of options.

would likely be more supportive of a move to get a PF now than before summer league started; even though Jones has played pretty well.

To me, the really interesting guy is Covington. I agree with those who think he might be this year's Morey steal. Seems like he can fill up the stat-sheet and is damn versatile.

You know how the game slows down after you've been in the league a couple years? The interview game still hasn't slowed down for Greg yet.

Slow? Terrible handles? He's a 6-9 250 lb PF... How many PF's in the league are gonna be able to keep him in front of them? I agree that he went to the dribble too much this game, but I dont see it being a problem on the reg season squad.

The TOs are because he was asked to play point forward. He's not built for that.

His release is quicker than it was last season, but still needs more speed.

If he's out at the 3 point line, that handle of his will come in handy if accompanied by a quick shot fake.

I think Covington's SL performance will translate to the NBA unlike what TJones is doing.

From Greg's point of view, the interview has slowed down. He's the red squirrel from Over the Hedge.

he does not have terrible handle for a pf. And he's deceivingly slow because of his length. We need the best all around pf anyways we have enough scorers/shooter. As long as he can defend, rebound and hit a mid-range jumper he's good...
