Yea I have a coworkers who are listeners of 610...let's just say they are the type who thinks that Matt Schwab was drafted by the Texans and that Owens Daniels is a good wide receiver. That is 610's audience and the garbage they spew fits those guys who don't know any better perfectly.
I used to like him. Dislike his show now, it's too much. Definitely a casual fan's show. But when he and Lance are partnered or take jabs at each other, that's true gold.
Dont be fooled, Charlie P would still be at 610 if it weren't for him banging a certain exec and the relationship ending poorly. He never wanted to leave for 790 to begin with.
if by 'fun' you mean not talking about sports and being a total jokeshop then yes I guess so. I accidentally had in on 1560 the other day and that greaser granato was talking about how it would be cool/funny to have an aaron hernandez jersey. Even the other host was kinda like wtf Each station has its duds with 790 dud being thomas. I had been away from houston sports radio for a long time so interesting to come back after 7 years and all these changes. My second time around I have given them all their chance and for morning its wexler and matt. Seems like matt has toned it down a bit from what I remember. Much less annoying than before. Wexler is clearly the stronger of the 2. That Md kalu and greg is pretty lame. I get it Md has a small business re fixing houses and greg banged more tail than a raccoon at raccoon prom. At that time slot I prefer the meltzer/payne but can't really stomach meltzer too much. Dont know who meltzer is or thinks he is but meltzer sucks. His opinions suck. Payne is good and probably the best that all of 610 has. Lance and Palillo are probably the gold standard of houston radio. I realized how much better houston radio (ie lance and pallilo ) after living in southern california where the AM radio is either 570 or 710 and they both suck. One can only listen to vick the brick and obrien so much before death seems like a better choice. This innes guy isnt from houston so cant expect him to care about houston sports. It's called trolling and it's working. His voice is annoying and apart from that people here are getting worked up about nothing since guy is lame anyway. He sucks, move on. The nick wright guys voice is really annoying too and the whole time I cant help but think he sounds gay. I dont have a problem with a gay guy per se.. but a gay guy with an annoying voice that doesnt know anything about sports- seems like a no go in my book. My 2 cents

Yeah, their sparring about BUN B's wife yesterday was hilarious. The sound bit alone Lance got out of Matt about his wife was nice!
So true, by far the most entertaining and doesn't take himself so seriously like Charlie P. Straight sports is boring, that's why Matt Thomas and Lance are both do great. I like the Adam Clantn addition to 790 as well
i listen to 790 and 1560. If people dont like the joking personalities, then dont listen. Also, it's the summer time and most shows will be doing more non-sports stories when the only team playing is the astros.
I agree with you the reason why i like guys like Matt Thomas and Adam Clanton is that they don't take them selves seriously. It makes the show fun and entertaining to listen to. Plus MT has good opinions too. The Big Show guys are alright but I find that their Basket Ball knowledge is sometimes at question and they tend to be a bit prissy sometimes. Charlie is great but he needs to understand that no one cares about Astros Baseball or Hockey.
