Like others have said, why haven't Asik and or his agent not come out with a statement damnit!? I hope this means like McHale has alluded to that they are working it out internally.
It's be disrespectful to Asik to let Howard start over him. As much as I love Howard on this team, he has to earn his right to start. It probably won't happen, but I would love for McHale to bench Howard at the beginning of this season to get it through to him that the BS he pulled in LA wont work here. Asik should be our starting 5.
Just a thought but I wonder if we will hear more reports about trading Asik after Dwight officially signs tomorrow. Maybe Morey just wanted to make sure Dwight was locked down before we ship off our center. I'd love to hang on to the guy to see if we could make it work or make a push at the trade deadline. Either way I trust Morey. He's gotten us this far!

I feel bad for Omer. However, wasn't there an article earlier where he said he was ok with Rockets pursuing Dwight?
He seemed indifferent; it sure would be better if he just would talk to Feigen to clear things up. http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2013/05/omer-asik-not-worried-about-dwight-howard-talk/
Thanks for the article. Tough situation. Hopefully, he can still get quality minutes while on the team.
I would love to see Lin, Harden, Parson, Asik and Howard line up. Many give very high praise to McHale that he will develop big man. Since he didn't do poop to our big men last season, he will a chance to do it now.
I really feel bad for Asik. The guy came in with relatively low expectations and exceeded them all. He proved to be a top rebounder in the ENTIRE NBA and a top defensive center. He worked his butt off to contribute offensively. He is a double-double machine--not many players can claim that. AND he is a great teammate, thinks team first, and never complained throughout the season--he just put his head down and went to work. Now the Rockets are asking him to take a diminished role? That seems incredibly unfair to him. I really hope they try out the twin towers model and see how it goes. I think 10 minutes of shared court time could work out (5 minutes each half--2.5 minutes a quarter) and then split the rest of the time at the Center position. Having both players would make the Rockets a defensive juggernaut and a rebounding goliath. I REALLY hope they can keep Asik and make it workout without relegating him to bench duties only--he deserves much more and people on CF who seem so eager to dump him for whatever is thrown their way will realize how sorely the team misses him when he is gone. Its just a *****ty situation for him but that's the price to pay for getting Dwight. His FTs have improved, he has a nice 'stroke' for an outside shot and maybe he'll surprise us and add it to his arsenal (that would be nice!) I do think the FO will keep him to start the season, especially as Dwight works his way back, coming off of injury. It is def. prudent to keep both until there is more certainty in the rotation and on the injury front. The Gobbler will prevail! (I hope)
It almost feels like we're being compensated for the years we've played with Chuck Hayes and an injured Yao. Now we have two top five centers on the Rockets.
