IF they wanted to move Monroe, which I do not think they do or will...BUT if they do, we would have to involve the Celtics in this trade I think: Rockets get: Monroe, Bass, Villanueva Rockets give: Asik, Lin, Jones (2nd rounders or a 2015 first rounder) Celtics get: Asik, Lin, Jones, Rockets picks Celtics give: Rondo, Bass Lineup: Lin, Bradley, Wallace, Green, Asik Detroit get: Rondo Detroit give: Monroe, Villanueva Lineup: Rondo, Stuckey, KCP, Smith, Drummond Rockets: Beverley/Canaan Harden/Garcia/Williams Parsons/Casspi/Williams Monroe/Bass/Motiejunas Howard/Smith/Motiejunas I personally do not really like this trade, but if Morey really likes Monroe, I think this is a fair trade for all teams. Celtics will probably want to get Parsons and dump Gerald Wallace on us...I definitely would not do the trade with either of those involved.
BOS trades Rondo, gets Asik, B.Knight, D-Mo and picks HOU trades Asik, D-Mo and picks, gets Monroe DET trades Monroe, Knight, gets Rondo I don't know if Monroe is the right guy on this roster though. He's a 4/5 hybrid who excels more in the half-court than running. He can hit the J, but he's far from lethal there.
^^^Also that trade only works if Pistons really like Rondo, and Ainge doesn't find many better deals out there for Rondo...and Monroe could be a franchise player so Pistons won't just give him away since Josh Smith is in town now...Unlikely trade.
I like the idea of sending Rondo to DET and us getting Monroe in the process. Only problem is I think Celts aren't getting enough in bball's scenario, and DET would be giving up too much in Sen's haha. I feel like there's a deal to be had there though. We're too biased and giving ourselves way too good of a deal, imo. Our first round pick has got to be included for one of those 2 teams, prob Celts.
Completely agree we are biased in our trades...99% of trade ideas on clutch are, including all of mine I'm pretty sure. At the same time, Morey is a freaking wizard, so I won't say anything is impossible...
D-Mo is better, so are Greg Smith or T Jones. The starting 4 for our team will get a min of 15 & 10. Asik is much better as well
I mean, I think the Josh Smith signing was idiotic by the Pistons, because the only person that can shoot is the rookie KCP, but they are not trading Greg Monroe. They certainly are not going to do it to acquire Asik. Than Greg Monroe? No. Wow.
No. JSmoove is not a fulltime PF. Greg is the best passer in the front court and able rebounder. Drummond is still improving so Greg is the only guy who is a stable contributor.
Greg Monroe is a very good player, but I believe he will be due for a big pay day soon, I'm guessing at LEAST 10+ Mil per year...can the Rockets afford that? I dunno, since Parsons will be due for a big pay day soon as well..although I don't think Parsons is worth 10+ mil like Monroe. Parsons is probably worth 8 mil per year. Also, some of y'all really think Smith is going to play SF? I think they'll try it out, but it won't end well...
They don't even try it out (Smith at the 3 I mean lol). But you're right, Monroe is due for a big pay day, but the way his contract is structured, we can exceed the cap and pay him (as an RFA) and still do it again w/ Parsons the yr after. If Les wants to avoid the luxury tax, Asik and Lin come off the books then so we can try to get someone else then, maybe w/ the MLE. Bahh I really like Greg Monroe, and giving up Lin, Asik, 2014 pick and one of TJones/DMo for him is too easysauce for me to say yes to haha.
Sorry, strike my comment about Smith at the 3. I got confused and thought some people meant GREG Smith as the ROCKETS 3. I was like whaaaaaa... Josh Smith as the DET 3 I can see. He will def. spend some minutes there.
I think Drummond and Smith are gone before Monroe if it came down to Apocalypse in Detroit. At least it should be that way unless Drummond can average better than 15 and 11 boards soon.
Whoever thinks Josh Smith is more valuable than Andre Drummond is flat out clueless. Drummond was one of the top rookies of last year and looks to have a promising all star future barring any injuries.
Smith maybe, Drummond no way. Have you read any of the DET forums? They treat Drummond as the second coming of LBJ or something. They are sure he will be a superstar, and I can't say I disagree. I'd take Drummond over Smith or Monroe any day, 'err day.
I don't see Greg Monroe leaving the Pistons. Even if he did, he's really a Center, not a Power Forward. He's not much of a jump shooter at all.
