Do you have proof of this?

Remember that if someone advocates trading Lin in favor of another PG. It doesn't qualify as hate.

BTW, unlike you, I'm not an internet thug. Not backing down means I'll post as normally in a just and fair way. It doesn't mean I'll be uncompromising.

I didn't become a fan until after the championship era. Does that make me a fake fan?

    Choke City turn Clutch City?

What you imagine is definitely always correct!

    I certainly talk like a 12 years old! ~lol~

New developments on the internet call for new vocabularies. I don't see why you feel like looking down on these words make you somehow good.

Hey, but he wasn't the greatest of all time when he was 24. Non Rockets fan? Well, that's over-generalizing right there.

Warning: for those who can't take it, no matter which sides you take, should not come to Lin's thread, it always ends badly, so stay away if you are mentally immature.

I will gladly take a 24 year old center averaging 23 points 11.4 rebounds 1.9 steals and 3.4 blocks. I don't know if you are trying to say lin could still improve to dream's level, but I don't know why else you would continue to bring up the Dream. He was on a completely different level

Jeremy Lin had a huge following the moment he entered the NBA. He had fans everywhere. Hakeem didn't.

If Hakeem turned out to be Kwame Brown, his fame would only come from the fact that he was picked before MJ. However that wasn't the case, and Hakeem turned out to be one of the best players of all time. His stardom came after he established himself as one of the best players in the game.

You cannot be honest and make the same claim with regards to Jeremy Lin. Lin's popularity preceded Linsanity and exploded during Linsanity. But none of this proves that he is a great player, only establishes the fact that he belongs in the league and is capable of doing more. However, he has a huge following that treats him like a great player, so yes that would get annoying for a lot of people.

Agree. Everybody lower their expectation a bit or simply be realistic and a little bit more objective. We are living in a better world.

Hakeem accomplished more for the city of Houston before he even played in the NBA

    The first word is HOUSTON

    Dumb vs Dumber,
what has Lin accomplished for the city of HOUSTON?

You keep thinking in this 'his fans' stuff, we're HOUSTON ROCKETS FANS.

    This Ain't Tennis.

This ain't Andre Aggasi or Jimmy Connors

it's a freaking team sport a team that represents a city

not a player that represents a group of fans

    Tom vs Jerry

I don't believe you based on you statements on this thread and on the board.
there's nothing at all that points that you ever were a fan of the Rockets of the 90s or 80s or 00s.

You think a Rockets fan would ever compare Lin fans to Rockets fans who have Olajuwon in their hearts?

When i go eat sushi, I know the california rolls has fake crab meat.

When I go on Clutchfans, I know the fake fans

Point is that Lebron was a leader and performed well even when he wasn't used to maximize his talents. Same with DH. He underperformed, but he still put up numbers that any other center in the league would drool over. Lin is not a great player, he played a very mediocre game - far below what we expected when we brought him in.

You can say it was because Harden was hogging the ball, but I watched many games and the problem was that when Lin had the ball, he didn't really impress. He didn't break down defenses, his passes were not steller, he got dribbled himself into sticky situations quite a bit, he allowed himself to get trapped by two defenders in the open court on numerous occasions. These are not the signs of a great player - but rather an inexperienced young player who still has a lot to learn.

Lebron, Howard, and Melo are not role players. Lin is a role player. I think this is where Lin fans need a reality check. Lin is never going to be a star. Never. Not on the Rockets, and not anywhere else. The only time he was a star was on a team missing it's other stars, where he had a magical 8 game run and everything clicked. It was beautiful basketball. But it's over. He didn't replicate it after Melo returned, and he didn't do it under woodson, and he didn't do it with Harden either.

I think people need to accept what Lin is - a potential solid role player if he is able to adjust his game to the team needs. That's not a knock on him. There's plenty of strong pg role players. You have guys like Fischer, Ron Harper, Kenny Smith, and many others. But Lin is not going to be Steve Nash or Tony Parker. And I think that's the problem on this board. Anyone who understands the game of basketball - and there are plenty of people who understand it well here - know the reality.

I am not the authority on the sport, but it's been a part of my life on multiple levels and ways for 30 years. So I can only tell you what I SEE from his play based on my experiences and knowledge. And that is Lin is not a great player and never will be. But he can be a solid starting point guard if he can adjust his game, and I think he can do that.
