How many of these cray Lin fans call everyone racist? One, two, three? I definitely agree that it is downright idiotic to call someone racist and such behavior is trollish as much as someone posting hate online. But the fact of the matter is its not these crazy Lin fans starting threads calling everyone racist and how Harden is to blame for Lins performance. It's all the haters (Ill give you that there are only a few Lin Only Fans, mostly by way of New York, and that most are just Lin haters) constantly saying Lins trash. Lin should be traded. Lin should be benched. Hey, how about being a 6th man. It's a compliment. Really. Look at Ginobli. And fans of Lins game defend and support him. One side is hating, the other side is defending and supporting. And those few who defend Lin by calling you racist should be shouted down. But it doesn't change the fact that the majority of people who defend Lin, defend against blind hate without knocking other Rockets. Noone will act stupid if you criticize Lin or any player in a constructive manner or if the critique is obvious. It's when you start off with "Lin is trash" where people lose respect for you.
I recognize the existence of haters. I don't claim that fans of Lin are just making them up and that they don't exist. But I see some of the actual realistic fans of Lin try to claim that these Lin fans don't exist. Every thread I see someone try to act like they have never seen these ridiculous pro Lin posts and try to play the victim. It's ridiculous.

How that sweeping? He said several which is in fact correct. Inflammatory maybe, but trolling? No. Too many idiots no longer even understand the meaning of the word "trolling." He is not looking for a reaction but simply expressing an opinion. Rockets2K is just as sick as the rest of us at these loser Lin fans. Honestly, I don't know why Clutch doesn't simply ban them. You eradicate viruses. You burn trash. You don't leave them around ****ting on everything.
King1 I am a huge Lin supporter, but always have the Rockets needs ahead of Lin in my book. I agree with a lot of your arguments about Lin's performance, but I think your over-generalizing here. I've really only seen a handful of people call out racism about Lin. A lot of the hate on Lin just completely ignores his potential, and the signs of improvement he's shown in literally his rookie season. (3rd year playing, but technically rookie season.) I do agree with you that there are some Lin fans that are rediculously stupid, but the haters are in the same boat. Your points on Lin have been fair and valid for the most part I might add.
This is just not true. I have never started any serious discussion regarding Lin with blatant un founded hate. I also try to never rely on opinion when making my points and bring statistics to the discussion. Yet EVERY time there is at least one who comes in and posts that I am a biased hater and that I just don't like Lin, when I think it's fairly obvious the only thing I dislike is the irrational fans and not the guy they idolize.
In all honesty, potential is worthless unless you show you can achieve it. White has potential, Jones has potential, Morris has potential, everyone out of the freaking draft has potential. It is entirely correct to ignore Lin's potential because potential does not help us win games right now. That said, I think as well that Lin will definitely improve. He works too hard not to. The question though remains, how much?
Man I hope this becomes the thread where all of the Lin-fighting goes on. Would it be too much to have all Lin whining moved to this thread so as to save the rest of the forum?
I see these posters as well, just as I see the exact same opposite. I've read your posts and you dont seem to be an irrational hater, but if you are, why are you wasting your time acknowledging these fools? When I walk around some places I do at times see screaming bible nuts yelling about how we're all sinners and how Jesus is coming back to drop kick us to hell. Do I go up and argue with them about their bs? Of course not, I avoid eye contact and walk in the opposite direction; and you know what, the fools who do succumb and decide to argue with them are just as silly.
Defending someone you respect doesn't mean you are blindly worshipping him. Look at every thread for crying out loud. Its not Lin fans who act stupid all of sudden. Its haters constantly calling him trash and that he should be traded or benched for anyone that gets it rolling. And your expectations of Lin and how he greatly underperformed last year is not a fact, its an opinion and one that is judgemental and goes against empirical evidence at that. Our views may never be reconciled because we see the same data and come to opposite conclusions. I see Lin's abilities and impact and I see a player who unquestionably affects the team positively. I see a player who has the right attitude, work ethic, and the attributes of speed, vision, clutchness, etc who has lots of work to do to teach his potential. You see someone who deserves to be traded, benched, and ridiculed. You think that's fair, but the people who defend a Rockets player is out of line....

That's not true at all. I've shouted at them myself. Just the other day, some dude was calling everyone here hicks. They can gtfo. At the same time, there are those who say "me rikey Lin." They can go to. I know there are idiots on this board that dog Houston while in defense of Lin and they could go to. I know there are LOFs who dont care about Houston. What I'm saying is that most of the haters are painting with a broad brush that accusation to everyone who defends Lin. To them, if you stick up for Lin, it's tantamount to worshipping and being a LOF.

I understand you are having fun, insulting people by calling them non "Real Rockets fans", under the guise of disparaging insults. That is part of your posting style and I have no problem with it as it is part of CF's "color". But not everyone is as intentional in their insults. Some think that saying that everyone who doesn't think that Lin is overvalued must therefore think he is a god is a reasonable statement. As someone else pointed out, it takes two to tango. In this case the less basketball-aware group of Lin fans (LOFs) and the anger-management challenged group of Lin realists (LOHs).
