Although its felt great seeing the angry reactions of Lakers fans, and the burning of D12 jerseys, etc. it got me thinking that I wish Houston had such passionate fans. Yao recently said that Rockets fans are so judgmental of players, but I think thats largely an effect of apathy. At times, I feel embarassed when the only people into the game are a group of people that have received free tickets in exchange for spirit and attendance. I feel annoyed when I want to high five someone next to me, but they are texting, or eating a hot dog, or have already left to the Tundra Parking Garage. I feel annoyed when certain players don't work hard, but don't get booed for it. Are these feelings justified or is it a good thing that our fans are not as into it?
From all the knee jerk threads that happen after almost every play of every game, I'm pretty sure our fanbase is pretty judgemental.
Yes but where are those people during games? Knee-jerking online? We need fans that will Knee-jerk off in person.
I like the fact that the only thing Houston fans go full r****d about is Matt Schaub. If they did that over the Rockets and Astros, this town would be unlivable.
rockets always had fairweather fans. i vaguely remember in the tmac/yao days, at one point the team played better on the road than at home lol
Hell no I ain't jealous. I hate Laker fans. The next time I see a Laker fan, I'm going to ask them when's the last time they won a championship and see if they know the answer or if they're just bandwagoners.
Of course there will always be bandwagoners, but I'm talking abut the fans at the game, throwing stuff at Lebron's Cavs, booing players, burning D12's jersey, etc. They may be out of line, but they are out of line because they are passionate about their team.
Starting a fire makes you passionate? By your logic, when Rockets fans leave early, they're not passionate about their team, but when Jack bailed on the Lakers and left his court side seats, I guess that showed how passionate he was?
That's actually EXACTLY what I believe. Jack Nicholson NEVER leaves early for his Lakers. The only reason he did that was because the players didn't seem interested in winning. Miami fans getting up in game six.... is another thing altogether.
