Appreciate that and yes I should've clarified that Jeff Bidwell is the local news reporter for Murray State. Also want to clarify that Bidwell tweeted it as himself, I didn't see it on the news, nor did Bidwell tweet it from the sports dept twitter which he is in control of. Makes me believe that Canaan didn't really want it all over the news but was telling Bidwell personally and maybe didn't want it on the news. Bidwell gives more insider info sometimes on his personal twitter account. Things can change but one thing that is for sure is that at the time Canaan was convinced that he wouldn't be playing summer league.
Well I see that the moderator has added the news story to the first post so scratch the possibility of Isaiah not wanting Bidwell to report it on the news. Way to be on top of things moderators or whoever added that!
We will only be able to offer him the rookie min. 490,000 unless we split up the room exception 2.6m (max 2 years) to offer him a similar contract to Parsons but for only 2 years. I reckon we should go for the rookie min. If Garcia is willing to take the min. to play on a contender, Canaan should too (34th pick).
isn't it actually in morey's best interest that canaan doesn't light up the summer league and then ask for a bigger contract
Y NO ANNOUNCE HE OUT (4 ENTIRE SUMMER LEEG)?

RT @JasonCFriedman Rockets resume SL play at 2pm CT. Listened to a podcast this morning with Coach Prohm who coached Canaan at Murray State. He keeps in contact with Canaan and when they asked him about Canaan and the summer league he responded with "yea Isaiah isn't playing right now, he's got some things going on with his ankle and some other things." Prohm always chooses his words carefully so this go me thinking about what some of you have said about contract situations and him not playing. Could be using the ankle and a little bit of an excuse. He said a few weeks ago that the ankle would be fine in a few days, was tweeting about practice being a success last week, tweeted about it being game day Sunday, and right after not playing he started mentioning his ankle and now is tweeting about "great day of rehab". Just speculating.
Don't know if anyone else listened to the BS Report today but Chad Ford was the guest and they were discussing the draft. Canaan was brought up and Chad said he felt it was the best 2nd round pick of the night, that he would be ready to play immediately and even went so far to say he wouldn't be surprised that he supplants Lin as our starter after this next season. Just passing along the info, I really don't have much of an opinion on what he said just thought it was interesting.
Just bumping this thread to avoid the questioning during the game. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=8097845&postcount=1
lol in a year Canaan is gonna be an NBA ready point guard? COme on, I dont care what Ford says...30 gms passed on him. He's a high energy, instant offense type guy. Nate Robinson at best, and you dont start him at point unless you have to. He'd get feasted by every pg out there on D, he's barely 6 foot.
