This is funky, has a great beat and I like the rock and roll looking white guys playing funky beats with a white guy rapping. It works. Having a female singing the high point of that chorus would make it really good, think of that scene in hustle and flow when that chick got that chorus down. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/_Cr0nP3k_p4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Thumbs up, and the bonus is that you can still morph into the Warlock Pinchers with a little distortion and I dunno a lobotomy or something.
Wasn't big on any of your other stuff but this is your best work. I don't know, maybe it's because I'm a sucker for hip hop/rap with a live band but it goes really well together. Always wanted to do something like this but could never get a band together. Good **** man
(responding to the rep note) I'm in a 3 piece...all acoustical. Guitar with lots of bluegrass instruments (plus ukulele) worked into an island/boogie sound. We all sing/write. One guy heavily influenced by bluegrass, another by jazz standards and me by the boogie woogie and island sounds. Having more fun just trying to make it work .
Nice groove. Your rhythm section is definitely in the pocket. I like the chorus. The rap....eh, not really my thing. That's on me though, not you. Maybe have the guys build up a little more towards the end of the verses/choruses? Add a few stops and starts? For example, have them drop out for the 1st 4 beats of the 2nd verse? Little things like that to make it more interesting. Man, I miss the days when I had time to do silly/fun stuff like this as a musician.
great job!! you guys got mad talent.. keep it up and good luck! keep us updated on your live show schedules.. i'll be in the austin area around late september.. may go catch yall's show.
I play a serious woodblock, perfect timing..... <a target='_blank' title='ImageShack - Image And Video Hosting' href='http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/692/12c4.jpg/'><img src='http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/6277/12c4.jpg' border='0'/></a><br>
Why falsetto? Only established singers can get away with that. Sing right. Band is OK 7/10. Singer (if you can call it that) is meh 6/10. You could probably get rid of the band and get a looping machine.
What's your point? I've seen "mariachi music" playing bands that sucked. So? Band didn't play anything exciting... maybe a couple changes, drums differed, riffs were a bit variable, and... that was it. But it was "meh" at best. Have them each get a solo... then we can start talking to see how well they can play.
