That's actually a pretty good analogy from a fan's perspective. I honestly don't really begrudge the Laker's fans for being upset. (although, parenthetically, I think we're all happy to see them be upset for once)

Where this comparison breaks down, though, is that the media certainly wasn't bemoaning the state of the Rockets after Pippen's departure. It was just about the Trailblazers and how good were they going to be, etc.

The way the media has handled the Howard saga has been pretty appalling.

We owed Portland for Drexler anyway, haha

But all the drama aside, we realised that it was over and we needed to rebuild, something the Lakers could learn from.

Pippen just signed a contract and forced to make a lopsided trade for a bunch of scrubs. Howard was traded to LA, and left in free agency. LA Nation is just classless.

Lakers are getting the guys back together again. Jordan Farmar, and maybe Lamar Odom and Sasha Vujacic are next! Lookout!

I actually think they are doing enough to not be absolutely dreadful.

    Steve Nash/Jordan Farmar
    Steve Blake/Jodie Meeks
    Kobe Bryant
    Pau Gasol/Ryan Kelly
    Chris Kaman/Jordan Hill/Robert Sacre

    A hole at SF.

Gasol and Kaman though will be enough at the PF/C spot to keep them from being the worst team in the league. If Nash is healthy that team will be competitive. They'll still be bad, but I don't see a chance for them win the lotto.

    Haha.

They're set at center. I mentioned they have a hole at small forward. A call to Adam Morrison will be made shortly.

Should leave them with no good draft pick and no assets
