Bull**** bro. There are plenty of non LOFs in this thread who just said no thanks to Rondo. But keep trying to push ur agenda whenever possible. Ur full of ****
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/Yb76AobIgcU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> no way we could get him. He'd be a great fit for the team though.
Pass. Rajon Rondo, pre-ACL tear is a Top 4 point guard who can break down any defense and distribute the ball with the best of them. But he also is a hothead, still hasn't developed a shot outside the lane, and MUST have the ball in his hands to be effective. We have Lin who is an adequate distributor, has a much better shot from everywhere, is a far better 3 pt. shooter and who is not a diva, like Rondo who seems to enjoy rocking the boat and being a locker room cancer. I understand all the people who look at Rondo and see an All-Star PG who can pass with the best of them, but his style of play and attitude just do not fit with the Rockets team we have built. Harden initiates roughly half of all offensive sets. Rondo needs the ball in his hands at all times when he is on the floor to use him efficiently, and that just isn't a possibility if we want to use Harden to the best of his abilities. Lin, Harden, Parsons, etc. working with Dwight and Asik in the PnR is worth much more than having a star PG who detracts from everyone else's abilities on the floor. In this case, Rondo just doesn't make sense for the Rockets team we have now. I would love to have an All-Star PG, and I can only hope Lin develops into such a player, but Rondo on this team would cause more problems than solutions and would not be a benefit in any way. I say we keep the PG we have and if a change needs to be made, we look to move Asik and/or Lin at the deadline after we see what kind of team we have and how well they play together before we make any moves that jeopardize our future flexibility as far as being able to sign free agents in 2014 and rounding out this team with the best possible acquisitions in the future. Rondo is not worth mortgaging the Rockets' future ability to acquire an additional piece that could push us from contender to overwhelming favorite for the foreseeable future. GO ROCKETS!!!!!! MORE CHAMPIONSHIPS ARE ON THERE WAY!!!!!!!!
Rondo would be a pretty bad fit here. Not to mention his contract. There's no way I'd even do Asik for Rondo, let alone Parsons.
What undervalued spot up pg can morey take? If we can find a decent shooter with a pf, we could get a better trade than this "just for rondo" nonsense. If green from the celtics was our target, I would be excited and would take on a rondo but that deal sounds way too greedy on our part.
Rondo is a top 10 player in this league an a top 3 point guard. To get him you're gonig to have to trade a star, so please quit saying silly things like Asik for Rondo. Boston would never do that. Boston would laugh if you offered them Asik, Lin, AND Parsons for Rondo.
Rondo is crazy overrated and has consistently led horrible offenses throughout his career. Even his vaunted playoff performances are vastly overstated; he consistently just steps up his volume on the same putrid (<50% TS) efficiency. Even in the Heat series where he had that fluke game 2 where he couldn't miss on his midrange J, his overall stats for the series were nothing to write home about. He would be an offensive negative to this team. The delusion in this thread regarding Rondo is strong.
Rondo would be an even worse fit for this team than Lin. The whole Lin fiasco started from the fact that Harden needed the ball in his hands more than Lin. If anyone even watched a single Celtic game, you would know that a team's offense ONLY runs through Rondo, and that he's a terrible shooter from 15ft out. Rondo is a good player, just not on this team...
Rondo is a chemistry killer and would be a waste on this team since Harden is the primary ball handler. Rockets need to upgrade the PF spot or bring in a shut down wing defender.
People who think Rondo is a bad fit here are dope smokers. Rondo thrives with shooters on the floor just like Dwight will, and he can get to the basket at will even when people back off of him. In the past he has been that good of a athlete. Only reservation I have is the acl, I would want to see him play half the season before trying to trade for him.
This is wrong on so many levels. Rondo thrives with shooters on the floor because any god-damn PG (at least ones that are starting caliber) thrives with shooters on the floor, but the thing is we DON'T have shooters on the floor and adding Rondo will just make that worse - worse for Dwight, too, as you mention. Also, backing off makes it *harder* to drive to the rim - Rondo actually gets passive about penetrating incredibly awful, and furthermore shies away from contact at the rim when he does penetrate, resulting in his terrible foul drawing rate. That, combined with his horrible FT shooting, is one of the reasons (guess what the other one is!) he's so inefficient and ineffective on offense.
Rondo is still recovering from a nasty injury. Would at least wait to see how he recovers from the injury before making any moves. I thought the consensus was that in a Harden/Howard offense, we need the PG to be an elite shooter? Rondo is a stud but that's literally the one thing he can't do, like at all.
Well, let me see....... First, let's bring back Dragic, he is way better then Lin, even he has not lead any team to playoff. ooops, he do not want play for Machail. Next let's get CP3and dump Lin, geeee, how dare CP3 signed with Clipper?! How about let's trade Lin for Calderon? wait! He want to hug Cuban, damn it. Now let see what open is there, how about starting Bev and put Lin as 6 Man? Is it stupid for Rox to pay someone 8 Mil for a backup? Well, if this is not working, let's go get Rondo. Do I see a smear campaign going on here? Hell, when I wake up tomorrow, I want to get MJ/Kobe/DH12/LJames + ABJ on my team. Go, Rox!
