I'd say I feel bad for Brad Stevens, but it's not like you could ever turn down a head coaching job for the Boston Celtics... especially at $22 mill
We just added Howard who can't shoot and now people want to add a point guard who can't shoot. And our center has a back concern and people want to add a point guard with a jacked up ACL. Now that's laughable... Funny as hell.
We got shooters all over the floor except D12. We need a lockdown defender against other pgs like Cp3, Tony Parker, Russell Westbrook, and Steph Curry in the playoffs. Rondo will defend and get you assists while at it. He is a great floor general and will relieve harden when he goes to the bench. you will have two great defenders at the pg and center spot. on top of that what parsons can give you.
Quite sure Dwight + Rondo will clash... Also rondo will be coming off a ACL injury... means earliest he will be playing the same level is 1 year for now... means this coming season be prepared to be another 1st round exit...
I'm not too keen on Rondo becoming a Rocket. I am a huge Rondo fan, love his game and his hustle but this isn't the 2008-2011 deferring Rondo but a big facilitator that needs the ball in his hands ALOT to be truly effective and that worked out with an aging cast of superstars and working pieces. This has caused detriment as he will stat pad given this responsibility and the Celtics suffered greatly at times because of this. I think Rondo is a stud, just not with the pieces we have.
I'd rather have Lin than Rondo, and i'm not a Lin fan. Rondo would be an ungodly bad fit with this team and he's douchey locker room cancer. You NEED spacing with Howard. Grabbing Rondo would be a Lakers 2012 "lets cram a bunch of stars together" move. Harden is primary ball handler, we don't need a guard that can't shoot for **** who will relegate Harden to spot up shooting. He's also coming off an ACL injury. We played inside/outside without Dwight, with him it's 100x more critical.
if you have a chance for rondo you do it. The guy creates easy shots for everyone. And just curious what is a good fit for this team. Talent wins hands down
I'm trying to figure out how a guy who can't shoot has a 48% career average lol No Rondo isn't the best three point shooter in the world but neither is Tony Parker. Both of them understand their strengths when it comes to shooting and that's getting to the hole and also shooting the mid range shot. Good article on the whole "Rondo can't shoot" myth: http://redsarmy.com/2012/05/23/rajon-rondo-better-than-dirk-at-midange-shooting/ As far as Rondo not being a good fit, Rondo brings what this teams needs which is defense and a do anything to win attitude (nevermind his playmaking abilities). Is he a perfect fit...No...is he better than anything we have now or could possibly think about getting....that would be a resounding yes. Are we better when James Harden is playing hero ball and iso'ing when Jeremy Lin is on the court....definitely. Will that formula be successful in the years to come....definitely not. It's a flawed way of playing the game. You'd have Rondo able to lead the fast break, probe the defense for easy buckets, set up Dwight and cutters and to get the team out of offensive jams/funks. JH would still be able to iso to take advantage of matchups but he needs ...IHMO...to be working off of screens to get easy buckets way more than what he's doing now. We also need someone to hold him accountable on the defensive end...something Jeremy would never have the nads to do. Rondo would not only lead by example but he would demand that JH steps it up on that end of the floor also. Having JH and DH, who are generally two laid back guys, is cool but we need a General on this team.
