Can we use the MLE to sign someone like Gary Neal without the Spurs matching?? They have no Exception or cap space.
We don't have the MLE. So, not unless Gary Neal wants to sign an offer sheet from us for the room exception or minimum.
And you can always match restricted free agents, although the Spurs are pretty cheap and don't seem to want him anyway.

This cap space MLE, contract extensions based on cap space is really complicated. Thanks for this info. Please don't Flame me, I'm just a true Rocket fan.
Any mechanics in place to prevent us from re-signing James Anderson or Tim Ohlbrecht after we waive them? Or do we just have to hope other teams don't grab them (assuming we want to re-sign them of course)?
Smith played more solid minutes, is younger and could develop into a very good reserve. With the likelihood we move Asik at the latest next summer, Smith is going to stay.
0 This was astounding to me. Does anyone know how this money is spent within the league? While the rest of the league won't add up to half that, there's enough money from luxury tax to pay a 31st team.
lol he is raw and was not drafted.... quit being debbie downer and appreciate what we have. A strong young man who is able improve. He won't become a star but he is serviceable for his low salary.
