Screw chess... Morey is actually playing tri-dimensional chess.

I'm failing to understand the point of this post. Is Jerry West walking through those doors?? I think not. Morey is doing yeoman's work out there, and I think he's going to be rewarded with an Executive of the Year award for his troubles this season.

There were many Morey-haters, some of them quite vitriolic.

I went to the University of Chicago, so I didn't have any trouble seeing the wisdom in his moves. :p

But, honestly, I think Moreyball has 3 eras and the first 2 were failures, so questioning Morey last year was probably appropriate. Era 1, he gambled on the health of Yao and McGrady and lost. I don't blame him for that because it was a good gamble to make, all things considered. But, he lost the bet. Era 2, kept the quality roleplayers and try to plug a superstar. Total failure, but at least he closed the era with some assets on the balance sheet to leverage. Era 3, trade the whole roster of quality roleplayers for younger potential; lucked out when Harden became available at the same time. Era 3 is still in process with addition of Howard and I hope it turns out great.

I've always been in Morey's corner (though it was getting close by the end of the 2012 season), but I don't see questioning him when he repeatedly failed to push the ball forward as wrong. That he has Harden and Howard now doesn't justify running Scola/Martin for 3 seasons.

When I saw the thread title, I was hoping to see GATER as the thread starter.

$Ball has given Rockets Dwight as center. Two tall athletic young PFs who aren't undersized. A star SG. A good SF with size for position. The best backup center in the league.

Funny how the Rockets finished with the same record as the Lakers who were suppose to click and just blow by the Rockets at some point last season.

Love the honesty! I've been a massive Morey supporter since very early on, and on the whole, I think he's done outstandingly well... But I can also admit that we are where we are as a franchise with a considerable amount of luck.... Starting of course with the nixed gasol trade. I would've still supported Morey had that gone through... A big portion of my support has been that Alexander was asking for something that would only be attainable through a series of masterful transactions and luck... Again, I'm a huge fan of Morey, but let's be honest... Given what Alexander asked of him.. He's done VERY well.... And we've been VERY lucky. Again, thanks for your honesty. Cheers go rockets!

Almu it's Ok. I see you are member 103, which means you re-registered when Clutch re-launched about 2 minutes before I did. ( from the original site.)

We are all Rockets fans and Morey has the Vision pretty strong along with an incredible comprehension of Moreyball.

I was able to see this and so have always muttered..In Morey We Trust!

Now it's time to Luv U Some Rockets ! For the next 6 years minimum.

    It's like A Dream !
