tyson chandler has had some decent longevity lol. I don't think we'll see dwight performing as defensive anchor for a championship team at the age tyson was in Dallas. Heck Dwight isn't even performing as the defensive anchor at 26.

Every starting center in the 80s and 90s would stomp on little howard, so yes he is the most overrated. The only reason he's able to do something is because of the rules changes, he's being treated like a superstar and NBA's posterboy. Yao used to dominate Dwight, every single game, and they still made it out like Howard was the best center in the league, except for JVG maybe. Dwight has never been the best center in the league, not even in a single NBA season.

Olajuwon is the all-time blocks leader and no one else is even close. Not to mention his steals and the ability to dominate anyone playing down low and the quickness to guard people on the perimeter.

Offensively, Dwight is so limited compared to Hakeem. Dwight has one move--the baby hook over the left shoulder. Dream had every post move, could shoot over either shoulder, could face you up and take you off the dribble, was money on the fadeaway baseline jumper and the top of the key. If you doubled him, he could still score or would find the open man.

Dwight was better against the 28 other guys, that's why. Yao was an awful matchup for him, the slow behemoth, even Hakeem (whose game was magnitudes more refined) struggled against those.

    Bump for awkwardness :p

Also, I'm an idiot for thinking Marc Gasol is better than him.

I wonder how many times this thread will be bumped whenever Dwight does something that contributes to us losing a game.

It's going to be equivalent to the "Jeremy Lin is a joke!!!" and "Are we better without Harden" threads LOL

I doubt it, but people do have their expectations too high. I believe if you think we are automatic to make the WCF then you are setting yourself up for failure. Parsons is an elite role player. Some consider him our third star. Other teams have a legit big three. I would trade him for any one of the Thunders big three. The Spurs have a better team overall and they seem to give Howard problems. The Warriors have literally everything a good team should have. All three of these teams have elite perimeter defenders to contain Harden. I think too many people are underestimating the Clippers too. We should be better than the Grizzlies, but maybe not right away.

I cannot believe what the OP just posted. A disgrace. Absolutely no reasonable person would ever post such a comment. Howard is a 19 ppg center who averages 13 rbg. And the best defensive center in the NBA. Go find another pot to piss in.

[EDIT] And I would like to add that that is 19 ppg without being the center of the offense. Howard manufactures those points with his athleticism. Historically you can argue what you want. He is by far and away the best center in the NBA today.

Marc Gasol is certainly much more versatile than Dwight.

I do understand when people think he might be overrated since a lot center lack the offensive skills today, But you would take Marc Gasol or Andrew Bynum over Dwight Howard.....?

wow, that has to be one of the dumbest opinions on this board
