BA posted their Midseason Top 50 Prospects List (please note that the recent draft picks were not eligible, so no Appel. http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/midseason-prospect-update-top-50-prospects/ Astros represented well with 5 in the Top 50: 9. Carlos Correa - Correa doesn’t run all that well, but he does everything else you’d look for in a shortstop. 20. George Springer - He gets caught on his front foot at times, but his power and speed are worth some strikeouts. 22. Jonathan Singleton - Returned from suspension to immediately reclaim status as top first base prospect in a thin class. 31. Mike Foltyniewicz - Fastball sat at 91-94 mph when he was drafted; now he touched 100 mph regularly. 46. Lance McCullers - His changeup has a long ways to go, but few pitchers in minors can match his fastball/breaking ball combo. Not too shabby friends, our future looks bright!
My apologies kind sir, I should have known better to even challenge your greatness! You are truly an awesome asset to this board, and I'd like to once again thank you.
BA: Hey Tellit, were going to be posting a tweet regarding the Astros in a few minutes. Just wanted to give you a heads up so you could inform the forum. Tellit: Already had it embedded
So if we do account for Appel we're looking at having 6 players within the top 50 prospects in baseball. That's amazing.
I am pretty sure a few of the other guys in the draft would push LM down past 50, but still having say 6 in the top 60 is just as good.

We all knew the big 6 we're gonna be highly rated, but it's still good to see it. If Vincent Velasquez finishes this year strong i have to imagine he can get on or near the top 100 because his stuff is huge. After a slow start DD's numbers have been trending upward, his SB have come on strong and I'm thinking he'll finish with a .300/.400/.430 slash or close to it, will that be enough to keep his spot on the 100. Cosart wasn't there last year, so I'm guessing he won't be this year. MLB had him in their top 100 last year so he should be near BA's top 100. Nitro and Santana haven't had great seasons and I don't think Tucker or Woj are viewed that highly. But still I'm thinking 9 guys in or near the top 100, that's pretty damn impressive.
He's been impressive. Even considering his .241 BA, he has an OPS of .835 with only 11 strikeouts compared to 9 walks. I'm excited for his development.
