Health care reform had already saved millions in cleaning up Medicare and Medicaid fraud. thank you mr president
Why didn't Obama get a Single Payer system passed when he had a super majority. Obamacare is doomed to fail. It doesn't solve the biggest problem which is rising costs.
http://www.gao.gov/assets/660/651702.pdf Good read. The jury is still out on the cost reduction measures. If this Congress weren't so dysfunctional, then the base legislation would've been improved by now. The American legislative machine works best in an incremental approach which sets a foundation first then gets tweaked.
Because he didn't have a super liberal majority. you do remember this barely passed. you do remember it took the worst republican in history to get that congressionalmakeup and some democrats came from traditional conservative states right. you do realize the private system wasn't going down that easily right. you do have common sense right?
HHS Gives Up On Obamacare’s Anti-Fraud Measures, Will Allow People Looking For Health Care Subsidies To Self-Report Their Income With No Verification… Rampant fraud in 3… 2… 1. Via Washington Examiner:http://washingtonexaminer.com/hhs-g...aud-measures/article/2532747?custom_click=rss
ABC News Political Director: Obamacare Now A “Slow-Motion” Train Wreck… Apparently the MSM is just figuring this out now. ABC’s Rick Klein: ObamaCare Now A “Slow-Motion” Train Wreck (July 7, 2013)
Except, of course, for the minor fact that you have to report your income annually to the IRS. If your income doesn't match the subsidy you got, you have to pay back the extra back (or get the extra subsidy) on your tax return anyway. The only difference now is that you have a less-accurate estimate at the beginning of the year. I know you feel the need to post every anti-Obama thing you can find, but after all your failures with fake scandals, it seems like a tiny bit of research on how the law works would be beneficial for you.
Then why creat a verification system in the first place? It sounds like the creators of the law weren't satisfied with individual IRS reports as a sole verification system. Now that verification system has been neutered.
Efficiency - if you get the correct data from the start, you can get a more accurate initial price for the customer. If the individual is estimating their income, it will be less exact and so the subsidy estimate will be less exact. The subsidy will change depending on if the employee changes jobs, gets a raise, etc afterwards anyway - so it was never meant to be perfect and always was going to be adjusted based on the tax return at the end of the year. It was an efficiency thing, not a fraud thing. The income verification would have come from the IRS anyway, so the source data is the same.
Don't believe the lies Koch Brothers To Pour Millions Into Obamacare Misinformation Campaign Americans for Prosperity — a conservative group funded by the Koch brothers — is spending millions on ads that aim to turn Americans against the Affordable Care Act, just as government officials prepare to enroll the uninsured in the law’s new health care exchanges beginning on October 1. The campaign will eschew attacks on President Obama in favor of a new non-ideological tone that could appeal “young women” who watch the Food Network, “Law & Order,” and “Good Morning America.”
Major and I agree! I'll be loling at anyone who takes the subsidy because of these false "self reporting" stories and then has a big tax burden when they file their income taxes.
Maybe, but with all new regulations these people are businesses who know the ins and outs of the law so they are contractors hired to keep businesses in line with the new laws. I do not understand it all, are ALL businesses required to provide HC for employees now? It really is BS that all of these companies will struggle. Sure employment might suffer because the higher ups would much ether higher less than take a pay cut. Koch bros would be fine with out their Billions in subsidies if they personally took less of the ~$100 billion net worth.
From that link - "Critics of the health law spent a whopping $400 million on television spots criticizing the law since 2010, over five times the $75 million that the law’s supporters have spent on ads promoting it. Analysts expect $1 billion in expenditures by 2015." Wow. Imagine what you can do with that money toward goodness than these silly things. Hate and fear drive people stupid.
