Lakers just need to concern themselves with making the play-offs. Who knows when Kobe will be back or what shape he will be in when he is back. Grandpa Pau and Great Grandpa Nash are about all the Lakers have and now they are talking about signing the Caveman. Ha Ha! Good Times!
We will be better than the Lakers for at least the next 2 years. If Dwight's back falls out and they sign Melo or Bron-Bron, then we are out.

I'm more excited about a potential Rockets-Thunder rivalry. I think they already hate us because a.) James Harden and b.) Patrick Beverley and the Westbrook injury. Now that we have a second superstar and can actually compete with them, it should be fun going forward.
I agree 100%. Iggy had Harden's number last season when they played the Nuggets. Now he is with GSW. $hits about to get real next season...
Lakers fans, x-players & x-coaches seem like little children that had their favorite toy taken away. Now it's the toy they never wanted. Not sure this will start a rivalry but bring it on if it does.
I live in LA and there has never been much of a feeling of rivalry with the Rockets. It has always been the Celtics that are the big rivals (especially in the 80s). This may change though. Would be pretty cool.
Every team in the league feels like THEY have a rivalry with the Lakers, just like every team in MLB feels like they have heat with the Yankees. But it's a one way street.
The Rockets, historically, have been kind of a pain in the ass for the Lakers. Not on the level of the Celtics or Spurs, but definitely up there in Philly/NY territory. Howard coming here definitely sets the table for an actual rivalry to grow.
