I don't think the 3-way version of the trade will be voided, namely, because all three teams are getting CONSIDERATION for the trade.

The Warriors get all the benefits mentioned in my post above.

The Nuggets aren't REDUCING their TPE. They are GETTING a TPE (instead of allowing Iggy to sign outright) and getting Foye, all while also retaining their MLE. That's a big deal for Denver.

The Jazz also are reportedly getting an extra second round pick (in addition to the picks that the Warriors already agreed to send them), all for just agreeing to sign-and-trade Foye (from Utah's perspective).

I agree that it is rather fishy how "little" Utah is getting in the deal, that was an issue when it was just a 2-team trade. The 3-team version of the trade is more favorable to Utah, so I doubt it's the "3-team deal" aspect that would cause anything to be voided.

    ahhh..thank you!

regardless, that guy is super critical of the Warriors. Says this was all about adding a guy that no one else really seemed to want in Iguodala (that none of the top competitors in the league were interested in Iggy). And that the cost in doing so involved making the team worse in the short term and the long term.

I don't know if he's right or not...but interesting stuff.

It is debatable whether adding Iguodala is worth losing Jack, Landry and draft picks. It kind of looked like a Dwight preparation deal, only without Dwight. Would have given Dwight a third (near) star to run with and allow the team to include Barnes or Thompson in a S&T.

Maybe they were betting on Dwight and lost the bet?

I have no idea if the Worse Than Cohan guy has real information...but he's been saying that the Warriors were told a while back that Dwight really wasn't interested. He says they did what they did only to get headlines and to try to convince fan base that they were really commited long term to building a contender.

I've been following him too, and he seems to know what he's talking about. Basically he's saying these moves are just to keep team in headlines in order to sell tickets in a soft market. I sort of agree with him. Iggy os not going to take that team any further than they got this year, and their depth is worse now without Landry and Jack. And they lose two 1st's, including next year. And 3 #2's!!!?? Move screams of just trying to do ANYTHING this offseason to appease fans. They would have been better off doing nothing.

I agree that the Warriors are going to miss Jarret Jack a lot more than they think.

GS is trading away more picks this summer than the Lakers did last summer. They're team is not a championship contender in my mind (one Curry ankle away from not making the playoffs) and they're trading away many future assets.

GSW to Jazz in 2 deals: Andris Biedrins, Richard Jefferson, Brandon Rush, 2 unprotected first-rounders in 14/17, 3 second-round picks, cash.

    GSW are going all in.

Jazz are doing very well here.

They need someone to fill their cap anyway. Two expiring contracts that wont eat into the playing time of their young players are just ideal for them. Those picks could be very valuable. They could do way worse.

I like this deal best for the Jazz.

The Jazz can't get free agents. No free agent in their right mind wants to go to that Mormon hell hole. So, instead, they are stock piling draft picks so that they can draft talent rather than bring it in via free agency and all they have to do is take on two expiring contracts? No brainer.

I feel bad for Warriors fans. Stephen Curry is a really exciting talent - but those ankles. They are essentially banking on a poor man's version of Yao and McGrady in Bogut and Curry. And, unfortunately for them, both of their guys are just as prone to injuries as Yao and McGrady were.

It will be interesting to see what they do with their MLE, because as is I don't see how they've improved. Iggy just doesn't replace all they lost in Landry and Jack - and that's without getting into how much they'll regret trading all of those draft picks away if Curry and Bogut do get progressively less healthy.

I completely agree they should have traded those guys last season if they had to. It is sad they didn't get ANYTHING for them. It still doesn't change the fact that this move is good for them.

You only give up that many picks and gut your bench if you are getting a bonafide superstar. They are not getting that player in Igudola.

It's a great deal for the Jazz as their payroll is only 20M and the minimum is about 50M. They were paying another 30M whether they wanted to or not.

Vets on 1yr contracts to backup their young guys and two unprotected first rounders for a team with Curry, Bogut, & Lee. What's not to like?

The Jazz are getting two unprotected first round picks in 2014 and 2017 and three second rounders. I don't really have a problem with how they handled it. Golden State is an injury or two from the lottery, and by 2017, there is no telling.

As far as the Jazz losing Jefferson and Millsap for nothing, well it depends on the offers coming their way.

Didn't Golden State give all their 1st rounders up until 2019? If i'm correct on that, man they're gambling with their future.
