To have both Dwight and Asik being able to anchor the defense for 48 minutes, the benefit of that I think outweights that of an increase in PF production given the dropoff at backup center. I really think Jones and Dmo can do a good job. My only concern with Dmo is that he just seems so, clumsy, defensively. his footwork on offense is great, but at times there were rotation issues and calderon esque defence..
Morey doesn't trade players at their lowest value point. McGrady was a different situation because he killed his value when we were going to trade him for Carter with the micro fracture surgery
i love how you are thinking...keep Asik- let us have a monster defence 48 minutes...and we will somehow find the ways to score...we're the best in scoring in the league...also imagine Howards become injured for a few games or God fordib for a month or two... with Asik as a backup it wouldnt be a problem at all... let us not forget that last couple of years injuries were almost the main factor determining who progresses in the playoffs and even who wins title....
The production of that is better than anyone but the star pfs. The best production benefit i believe is LMA, not because he's better than Love, but because he can play 10-15 mins as the backup C and his production as a C is amazing.
Although I believe that Asik will eventually be traded for a starting caliber 4, I do want to point out that Dwight Howard did play Power Forward at the beginning of his career. His 1st season, he started next to all-time Rocket great Kelvin Cato. Then he started next to Tony Battie. So we cant completely dismiss the idea of him and Asik playing next to each other.
I agree with the point that I would put Dwight at the 4 before I would put Asik at the 4. Everyone always wants to say that Asik can't play the 4 next to Dwight but I think it'd be different. That being said, I still see Asik being traded.
I know morey to wait for the trade deadline for teams like Portland or minni realise they arnt making the playoffs and wanna go all in for wiggins... Then morey will strike...
This is a terrible comparison. Neither of our guys has a game that could in any way be confused with Rasheed's.
I agree with you about ESPN clearly having an agenda, but if Kevin McHale really made those comments at summer league, then it appears Omer is unhappy (which is understandable). I liked McHale's response that he would smooth it over and find a way to make it work. I'm in favor of that assuming Howard, as said, also wants Omer to stay.
I agree on the thug, but Cousins will not agree to be playing behind Dwight, or play beside him. Dwight will impede Cuz's potential.
They will be played against poor jump shooting teams to force them into a jump shot or bust situation, our Asik/Smith lineup bothered a fair few teams, and Dwight is basically a god compared to Smith.
If they want to contend, they better keep Asik. If (Dwight's) the lone big man, it's going to be a problem. He needs help in that regard. - Stephen A. Hmmm...
