I think the goatee is a good look, though, because only real men wear facial hair.

Islam is such a barbaric religion, absolute animal savagery, why anyone would defend it is beyond me

There's that broad brush again. I heard that the Astrodome is a bit run down, could use a painter with a broad brush like yours. What are you waiting for?

I know. Did you watch Wimbledon today? The chair umpire was a Muslim. He was so barbaric up there at the All England Club.

I've got to agree with this guy, repped. We aren't animals like those barbarians, we are above whatever they are.

Replace Islam with religion in general.

True, most of them aren't down for the struggle and willing to go all the way full jihadi, but they still share a religion with those that are (a significant number). There's little to no effort to excommunicate and shun those that engage in religious atrocities beyond reactive generic statements of condemnation. This violence is becoming more endemic, not less.

A mystical/faith-based value system need not be violent or intolerant.

Replace religion in general with the human species. Historically, you guys are natural born killers.

Weird thread for your random Islamophobic rant, given that this is about several million mostly Muslim Egyptians overthrowing the crazies you are talking about.

well, serves those unarmed "animals" right

be weary of the military. It is NOT a friend of democratic principles, as this episode shows once again.

of course, some will justify this as repressing political Islam and point to isolated instances of violence rather than systematic ones---it's the same argument as has been playing around the Middle East for decades. At a certain point though, you have to wonder if installing a brutal regime, to prevent a brutal regime, makes any sense.

The same Muslim Brotherhood Obama, McRINO and Menendez are insisting must be part of the future Egyptian government.

The problem is not a problem of the Muslim Brotherhood vs women.

it's the problem the world over of males trying to dominate women.

You must have missed this part of the story.

    -------------

It is the shameful, untold story of an Arab Spring revolution that went off-track. And perhaps the most disturbing element is that these attacks are said to have been sanctioned by Morsi and the Brotherhood. [...]

The assailants operated in a climate of impunity – encouraged by religious zealots within the government who had called female protesters whores and who had blamed rape victims for not staying home. It is even believed that the gangs were paid by the Muslim Brotherhood.

It's the Daily Mail---I used it too, but I know its' limits. when you see it is "said"---and "it is even believed", that's about as credible as as me saying I believe in Zeebus.

Anyways, any reaction to the military killing unarmed civilians? or it is worth it. I don't know, somehow I think some people on this forum could justify Tiananmen, so long as it was Muslims being fired on.

If this is really what happened, Egypt's military is going to face a major problem and lose a lot of support. That said, it's unclear that your version of the story is the correct one at this point. This is what the MB has claimed happened. The military (and at least one random witness) say something very different. Neither side is particularly trustworthy and has every reason to lie, so we'll have to see what more comes out.

Realistically, the situation will get uglier before it gets resolved and there's likely to be more violence in the near future.
