How good would a combo of love and Howard be at rebounding?? I would live to see it just for the hell of it.
I'd love that too, but with his favorable contract, his being the Hawks' sole franchise player, and his ability to play two positions well, that's not going to happen.
In terms of skill-set, natural ability and athleticism, I think LaMarcus is the BEST power forward in the NBA right now. I don't think it's close at all. He's overlooked because of his team. His post game and high-release shot are undefendable...almost like Rasheed's was. He fits everything we need in Houston. Kevin Love can score, but he's not a natural talent. Now, he has a history of injuries. We've been through that. I consider him a bit of a diva for his contract dispute over the last year or two. The fact is there is no one better than LaMarcus right now, other than Timmy, who is on his way down. Serge Ibaka isn't there yet...and he probably won't be. Chris Bosh has lost a step, and his contract is inflated. LMA all day.
This is how I feel also. I think LMA is underrated. Hell, just watching some of his highlights from games last year and two years ago... it's amazing how great he is offensively. Love is definitely a better rebounder, but LMA's length is a big thing too. I think he would fit great with the Rockets. Love has the better stats, but I like LMA's game. He's a star that's played well as a 2nd option and has had more success than Love as a first option. Even with coaching changes, Roy and Oden's career-ending injuries, and a revolving door supporting cast his team's worst season is better than Love's best. He can just carry a team better. Plus, he's reportedly interested in playing for the Rockets.
i'll alwaays take lma over love. love is one level better on the rebouding offensive end, but several on the defensive end. the talent gap between the two isnt huge. rockets dont need all that extra offense from love. with dwight on his last legs as an athletic freak you dont want him to defend the c and pf position. lma would be awesome
Athletically Love is better than LMA at everything, LMA is taller, that's it. The one thing LMA has on him though is that he can fill in at center, Love not so much. Love has better shooting range, but LMA though is a vastly better post player. That being said, his greatest strength in the post is the same place Dwight needs to be.
I think if the Rockets were to get Love we would be a great team and what morey would want becuase of Love's 3 point ability, however if we were to get LMA I think the rockets take that next step into the Heat tier where we would be almost unstoppable on any given night.
Presti's decision to give Harden just one hour may have single handledly changed the landscape of the west in the foreseeable future. You think he's gonna just hand us Ibaka as well?
How so? They both have yet to take their team deep in the playoffs? Besides shooting a good % on his 3's what else is Kevin Love that much better then LMA at?
Plenty of teams would rather have LMA than Love. Love is an undersized pick and pop guy that has a great motor for getting rebounds. LMA is a long, athletic, and easily one of the best back to the basket post players in the league. Hardly two different classes.
Overall Love is better player than LMA. Love is olympian, LMA is not. Love is younger and is a better fit for Rockets
Love is more athletic than LMA, he's faster, he jumps higher, everything. Love is actually faster than Griffin, Griffin has better hops obviously, but the difference between Griffin and Love is closer than Love's advantage over Aldridge. Black doesn't = better athlete
