I see a head that's too small for his body. Reminds me of that scene from Beetlejuice in the waiting room.

Anyone who doesn't want him here is kidding themselves. Here he fits into our system. He doesn't work in LA because their system is for Kobe, he isnt in a place to succeed. Here we are younger, with a ton of chemistry, which clearly they did not in LA this season. Here he would fit into and add to our young core.

There is no denying that Howard is the best center in the NBA, not to mention he is only 27. Yes, I would love him on the Rockets

He was a top 3 player a few years ago. He came back months before he should have after back surgery, and he's still been one of, if not the best center in the league.

I really, really like Asik, and ideally we would improve on the PF and PG positions first, but I'll be jumping up and down if we could get Dwight.

The locker room personality does bother me a bit. I think there are certain lead players you can bring in and just seeing their attitude, their work ethic, their greatness, everyone else just naturally works harder and gets better too. It's like how players improve after playing on the Olympic squad. I don't think Dwight has that quality in him. For young teams, that aspect is really important. Like, Durant and Westbrook really set the tone & expectations in OKC. I want Harden and someone who is really driven to set the tone in HOU.

Dwight isn't mentally weak, he's just a backstabbing diva. There's a big difference.

We would not be giving up our left nut, the guy easily makes us the favorite in the West. He is the Perfect fit for the team. He is Omer Asik with a way better offense. Imagine Asik off the bench!
I don't always agree with his decisions, and his diva like theatrics, but damn I am ready to win. It has been 18 years my goodness since we won. I want to win!! This guy makes us contenders.

This comment is hilarious on so many levels. You want a hard working and mature player yet you name Andrew Bynum.

I work in LA & it was a quick and brief love hate relationship. The Lakers also messed up by making his injuries seem like NO BIG DEAL. Dwight responded back bc in the long run, what can they say? He played injured, torn up shoulder & dominated the 2nd half of the season.

What was learned out of this whole thing? That ESPN has a strong LA and east coast bias (coincidentally their headquarters) well looks like he's been being blasted for being the guy that never says a word, but yet the media turns him into a flip flopper, and drags it on, and on, and on, like I'm doing with this post. Lesson learned though, maybe he isn't quite the diva he's been portrayed to be.

This spot on. Perfect analogy to these cats are "really classy" out here in the land of LA when I work there.

At first I was uncertain about Dwight but I thought about it and why would we not try to get one of the best centers in the nba. Dwight didn't feel comfortable in the laker offense there was alot of confusion, but I think Dwight coming to Houston will help us alot and with the big 3 (Dwight,Harden, Parson) already building a relationship outside of basketball looks like we are heading to a positive season.

Turns out we have to give up nothing because Dwight Howard feels that Houston is the best place for him to be the next 4+ years because of our young core with Harden, Parsons, Asik, Lin et al.; our front office who has made excellent move after superb signing; a city hungry for a return to championship form; roster flexibility to continue to improve around our core and the desire to do whatever it takes to make our pieces fit together and flourish; a coach in McHale that can teach Howard what he still needs to learn about being a dominant Center; the Dream now available at all times to continue to mentor Howard and assist his growth.

But most importantly now that D12 has had the experience of being around one the most hyped players in history in Kobe, D12 can see the type of ball-hogging, arrogant, narcissistic, me first attitude that is Kobe Bryant and knows how toxic and debilitating that type of person is to an organization trying to win a championship.

I think Dwight's time in LA has helped show him exactly what is needed to be a strong, contributing part of a team. I think it showed him the time of players he wants to be around and how he should behave and conduct himself in order to foster a positive, winning atmosphere as we try to build another championship team here in Houston. I think Kobe helped lead Dwight to Houston. Now Dwight knows the type of player he needs to be and the type he wants to surround himself with for the rest of his career. I am shocked and very much relieved that Dwight chose Houston and it shows a lot of maturity on his part to leave such a tempting city as Hollywood for the chance to really earn a championship through effort and teamwork in Houston with good people, solid teammates and an organization that wants to win the right way.

    Well done Dwight!!!!

It's so poetic how he left that game you can tell from that moment he wasn't going back to the lakers. It somewhat similar to how lebron played his final game in Cleveland taking off his jersey as he walked off the court for the final time as a cavalier.

I love seeing those scenes, and I think that moment dwight might of thought that its time to play like I did back in Orlando.

Oh and you know he is going to come out against LA in his first game back at staples and really try to dominate them and give the fans there a major wake up call.

I can see lakersground right now going off saying its all Jim Buss fault lol.

Can't wait for that first game against the lakers for him haha. My prediction for that game will be Dwight going off for 30pts 21rebs and lets say 5 blocks. I just have a funny feeling he will have that sort of game haha
