No, that's incorrect. The 150% bonus is only if the outgoing salary is less than $9.8M for a non-tax team. If the aggregate outgoing salary is between $9.8M and $19.6M for a non-tax team, the extra amount you can take back is only $5M. So that falls short of Dirk's $22.7M.

Asik deserves to start. I love the man, therefore I think we should trade so he can start and get starting minutes. He definitely deserves it.

So ESPN just took a general quote about Asik feeling a little discontent, and packaged it as proof to support what they wildly guessed might happen immediately after the Howard signing...

So this still hasn't been confirmed by a credible source right? No news here then.

I think this was a front office leak to drive more interest in Omer.

LOL at anyone trying to say Fox/CNN is more credible than the other. Each plays their party affiliation. If you think they're any different beyond that, then you're very naive.

As far as Asik, it wouldn't surprise me if he wanted a trade, but Morey won't trade him for anything less than fair value or better. Asik signed a contract and we'll hang on to him unt we decide it may be beneficial to move him

. DM isn't going to take .60/$1.00 for him. Top defensive centers are rare, and we will get something valuable if we trade him. I fully appreciate what he has done for the Rox, but it's a 2-way street. The Rox made him a multi-millionaire and put gave him the opportunity to show his true worth. This will be a win for Hou whenever way it goes. I hope we keep him bc he's the modest hard-working type that we appreciate here, as opposed to the primadonnas who tarnish the game.

Omer is the foundation of the team's defense...i always said that during the season. Because he is so good and solid playing the Center position, i even go as far as saying we just need a solid PF and we're set to go next year. And it still ring truth to that....but we have a chance to get Howard, of course we should jump at it. He's just a better overall player and provide the offense skills we needed. I know how Omer feel though....i mean i would feel the same thing i don't want to play for the Rockets if i feel i am not welcome here and all the work that i brought to the team is not appreciated..why the hell should i stay with the team. It's going to be a bit tough moving on and the Rockets is not able to find a PF suitable for this type of offense for a trade..they need a spread PF.

To those saying not credible, why not? What more proof do you need?

Something from a Houston reporter would be warranted.

I wouldn't assume this is true or false until other outlets confirm/deny. It's not inconceivable that ESPN got the scoop first.

It's Brian Windhorst. He was leading the charge behind a bunch of Dwight Howard drama nonsense. He is a total outsider and he only has a job because he was a beat writer for Cleveland during the LeBron years, so ESPN picked him up when LeBron went to Miami to have someone familiar to him reporting on the Heat.

This article has not been confirmed by anybody with an ounce of credibility, not the least of which would be the Rockets themselves, and many actual Houston insiders have flat out said this was not true.

I think you have CNN mixed up with MSNBC. CNN doesn't lean to any particular party, they only care about driving up their ratings with as many poorly-researched, sensationalistic news stories as possible. I think comparing ESPN to CNN is pretty accurate, though, because they both do the same sh**, ESPN just does it focusing on sports instead of general news.

As for the other two, MSNBC intentionally tries to be left wing, FOX intentionally tries to be right wing. Only one of those stations employs Sean Hannity, though

Anyway, I don't believe or disbelieve that Asik asked for a trade. I take two grains of salt with anything ESPN says, but it's a plausible story to me. It's not good for Asik's career to play "15-20 minutes a game off the bench" like Morey said, and I don't buy that the Twin Towers thing will work very well.

    Radical trade proposal for Asik:

    Charlotte gets Asik.

Houston gets Ty Thomas, Brandan Haywood, rights to Cody Zeller.

Charlotte is allegedly getting ready to amnesty Ty Thomas. Don't know if that is true for sure. Can't believe they would do that since they are so cheap.

I'd like some input on this. Would you do this trade if you were the Rox? Why or why not?

If you could throw in a behavioral psychologist with TT, a time machine with haywood, and some semblance of a personality with Zeller...nope. still no.
