Lin is a quarterback being told to play the wide receiver, although he's not bad at that either...playing flag football.

Imagine Schaub being told to play wide receiver because the Houston Texans acquired Drew Brees. It doesn't make any sense. Utilize him correctly or trade him.

No need to apologize to me!!! Im not the one being shopped....just shedding some light on the situation.

I was interested to see the "limited interest" by other teams statement:eek: lol

Some have said Dwight coming to the Rockets will take a lot of pressure off Lin. This is true to some extent. On the other hand, the higher expectations on the team will increase pressure on Lin not to be a flat tire.

We'll see how he responds. He's got to reduce TOs, shoot open jumpers better, keep his confidence in the face of adversity and be physically able to play well when the playoffs start.

After a season of being a full-time starter, Lin knows what he's up against and should return a better player than last year. It will be a huge disappointment if he starts off shooting below .400/.300 again.

Not shocking. He makes too much damn money. If he takes a big step this year, we'll have no problem moving him next offseason...or we'll keep him if ends up being that good.

One things for sure: the kid is practicing his ass off. I like his chances for improvement.

I don't care what he does in the regular season. I hope he plays every game in the playoffs.

Regardless of the "limited interest" or Rockets believe in him, Lin will start the season as the starting pg.

I don't think Houston will shop Lin unless he doesn't produce as a pg next season. Besides he is a cash cow for Les for the China market, Howard might have asked if Lin will stay if he joins the Rox. He knows full well how Lin turned Tyson Chandler into beast mode during Linsanity. If T Chandler can do that despite being a no-show on offence before Lin, Howard must be salivating on his own potential jump on stats once he and Lin work out the chemistry. Imagine 4 years of great stats with Lin. He will command another max contract after that. So Lin might be staying more so than Asik if Houston has to let one of the 8 million guys go.

That's true. Right now, there is more pressure on Harden/Howard then Lin/Howard. We know Lin can pass the ball well, just hoping Harden can improve his passing and play well with a legit C. It's weird but sometimes SG and C just don't mesh as well as PG and C.

Lin should be able to have his best year efficiency-wise next year. It doesn't mean that he shouldn't improve other aspects of his game though. Shooting will be crucial to his success no matter what role he takes on, how much of the scoring he is asked to take, nor how much the team caters its offensive scheming to his strengths.

The way I look at it is this: Brooks in all his years with us only put up a PER above 15 once, and that was the year we were basically tanking and making him our #1 offensive option. Lowry was sub-15 until he finally learned how to shoot, and even then he only gave us one full season of great efficiency PG play. So Lin last year with all his flaws was still hovering around a PER of 15 the whole year.

(15 is supposed to be right at league average FYI if you're not familiar with the system. Guys like big men in the paint are supposed to naturally be more efficient, as are high usage players like PG's. SG's and wings usually average the lowest efficiency, often because they take outside shots or are relied upon to score the ball late in the shotclock, always a low efficiency proposition.)

I fully expect Lin's PER to be at least 17 this year and hopefully higher. This will probably be the year where we finally have an idea of what Lin's plateau as an NBA player is to become.

I believe he is working to improve BUT if you can trade him for a player fits what the team needs like a upgrade/stretch 4 or a pg that can shoot 3s at a high percentage then you do it.

Im putting it out there.I'd prefer Teague (w/Horford-Asik) or Dragic (with Bledsoe/Marshall suns are pg heavy) over Lin.

I don't understand why people want Lin gone. Yes, his season wasn't as great as people expected, but you have to consider the fact that he's still a young player trying his very best to improve. It's not like he's a washed up 35 year old PG. I think Lin will be much better next season. It's only been one season. Give him a chance for god sakes. Instead of running him out of town, we should be encouraging him to improve and be a better player. Listening to all these people wanting him gone just angers me.

Will next year be Lin's best season? I can't tell...
BUT without a doubt, last season was his worst season with the Rockets.
I hope the Rockets keep him so we can witness how Lin plays with Howard.

Jeremy will adjust his game to do whatever the coaches tell him too, as he did all season last season. He's not arrogant and is working on his weaknesses. He's a great teammate to have.

I don't understand how he's going to magically improve in all areas with Harden and Dwight requiring major touches, Parsons being the clear #3 (with the current roster) and Beverley emerging as another quality option at PG.

I think he improves his efficiency, but his minutes and USG should go down, and rightfully so.

Lin's versatility will be appreciated next year. He can shoot, he can drive, create for himself and for others. We overextended Asik last year offensively, having Howard in the middle will make a world of difference for our half-court offense. Lin and Parsons are perfect for taking advantage of the attention paid to Harden and Howard. They don't just spot up, they make things happen.
