Oh god, do not want. People here were complaining about JSmith's and Dwight's locker room poison but RONDO? He's a whole 'nother level.

He's overrated imo and a huge ball hog that stops the flow of the offense. Why would we want him paired w/ Harden? no ty

No. We'd need to at least move both Lin and Asik to get Bosh, salary-wise. But why would we want Bosh? Did you watch the playoffs this yr? :p

..."and deliver him to another team."

It's a shame the main free agent available wasn't a 4, because Asik will be gone soon as a result of Howard's signing. Philly? Washington DC?

Asik is a good core asset to hold onto for Aldridge or Love. If those two make it clear they're leaving their teams need to trade them in 2014-15 otherwise they lose them for nothing.

The hard part is trying to convert Lin into future picks or high upside rookie contracts. This might be impossible. Right now the only trade package teams will even begin discussion for an unhappy star is based around Parsons & Asik.

If we don't get a PF for Asik (LMA, Love, Anderson, etc) then I would go after Teague in a S&T.

Have it on strong authority Pelicans not only haven't talked to Rockets about Asik sign-and-trade but likewise have no interest in him

i don't blame him, Asik had a break out season.

then Howard comes, he's left with these thoughts

i'm either going to the bench
    or
    i'm either getting traded

there's a lot of uncertainty, there

I'm making millions of dollars to play the game I love, a chance to be on a championship team, a team that I enjoy playing for with teammates I care about...I'd be a little down too about losing my starting job..but at the end of the day, I think I'd want to stick around and be a part of something special. I'm sure he'll get close to the same minutes he got last year, so the team can save both of them for the playoffs. So what that you're not starting. Does it really matter that you play the opening minutes of each half?

what would Teague bring to the table that we lack with Lin and Beverly?

Teague is an elite athlete at the pg position, but he's not good enough to justify trading Lin.

Ryan, he's actually a dead eye 3 point shooter.

He was born to be a stretch 4.

Really would love Ryan Andersen at the 4 with Dwight. As always I'm concerned with keeping Parsons because I think he's the one that will make all of this work

I think Teague is a significant upgrade over Lin, but that's my opinion, and then having Beverly back him up with Canaan on the bench too, you solidify the PG position. Barring a Rondo trade, Teague is close to the best PG possible to acquire (Paul, Williams, Irving, Lillard and Parker all not moving anytime soon).

Since Howard is a poor free throw shooter, Asik can expect to play significant minutes at the ends of games... oh, wait...

Yes, I know Asik actually surprised many with his FT shooting against OKC.

I would be really happy with either one, but i'd pick Ilyasova because he is more versatile, and a better defender.

    Understand Asik.

He just got freed from being the back up in Chicago and then had a monster season, was a most improved player candidate. You played a ton of minutes, had monster rebounding nights and defensive efforts, and played as a legit starting center.

Then "great news", Rockets land Dwight.

All of the great above will be gone. Of course you'll be unhappy. You has a great season, you felt great, now it's over.

Lots of teams will want him, he's legit starting center in the NBA! Not too many of those around.

Of course the whole Houston organization understands his value as an individual player, as a back up, as an asset in deals, etc. and are not going to easily "give him away".

Houston will now have to play this delicate placating game with Omer and they have to find a way to keep him happy or else they would have to part with a very valuable asset.

Neither, you can find a number of "stretch 4's" that can give you similar type of production for about a third of the cost.

Besides, you guys seems to have forgotten about d-mo and jones. You guys give up one them too quickly, give them a chance, they were rookies.

I for one was very impressed with dmo and jones play last season. They just need some more time and experience. I believe they are the they best two PF's to complement Dwight's game.

If Teague was so great, then why were the Hawks only the 14th most efficient offense in a crap Eastern Conference, while the Lin helped lead the 6th most efficient offense in a stacked Western Conference? Teague's TS this year was basically the same as Lin's, 54.3 to 53.8, and this is with Jeremy's horrible start primarily due to coming off injury. Oh, and Teague is garbage on defense...his synergy numbers are crap, and in matchups with Lin, he got lit up.
