Yeah they actually do, wouldnt have said that if they didnt meant it..bwhhahahahaha People are too funny, I guess they were in that meeting room when Morey told Lin he was the face of the franchise. #speculation101...bwhahahhahaha @Lin being the face of the franchise
3rd most Morey win-shares, assists leader, and 3rd leading scorer on a top offensive team, and arguably top 10 team overall...starts every regular season game, helping his team make the playoffs for the first time in 4 years, and in becoming one of the youngest teams in NBA history to make the playoffs, and in a tough Western Conference to boot. When Harden goes down, he becomes #1 option and playmaker, goes 2-2, 3 of those games come against top 10 defenses. Averages 21.5/7.3/60%TS...would have gone 3-1, if not for strange substitutions in the San Antonio game where we were up double digits...Does this sounds like a freaking backup to you??? Really?
Lin needs to go. If the Rockets want to be a contender theres no way Eremy Lin's your point guard. Period. Seen somewhere Andre Miller's on the block, might wanna hop on that asap
The NBA has Lin ranked 17th out of 40-50 PG's. Stop being so protective and defensive when clearly Aruba wasnt talking Lin down. They are right on the money as well as the NBA. Lin also has his flaws too. Cant go left, needs to work on his jumper more, turns the ball over a lot (silly turnovers might I add), doesnt play with aggression every game, gamble too much on defense, and the list goes on..Like the man said dude will improve and might end up being in that top tier range.
That ain't happening. We also made a promise to Howard to feature him and build to his strengths. He ain't playing PF....don't be silly. and Asik isn't getting 10-15 minutes as a PF, either.
as i have sai in heaps of other thread morey wont deal for the sake of it.. hes not pulling the trigger and getting 60cents to the dollar, becausee Larry O's arnt won in november monte/jones/asik/parsons sounds goos
I think they should keep Lin and give him another shot with a center who can actually catch. As for Asik, I like him, but I don't think you can pay $8+mil a year to someone who is only going to play 15-20 minutes a game, especially when they have a gaping hole at the 4.
Yeah, yeah, yeah it's all based on opinion, that should be understood given that this is a message board. Ellis, jennings nash and rubio have deficiencies in their game which is why they aren't in the top tier. However the strengths that they do have are top tier. Wall clearly took it to the next level last year and he has one more year on his contract btw. And if you took the time to read instead of overreacting right away, I put him on 2nd tier. Stop the name calling and actually read what I wrote. Yes I think Lin is in the top 20 pgs, otherwise I would have named 12 more PGs I think are better than him. And since I think Lin is a top 20 PG, how did you get from there to me saying he is a backup? Jack is already at his peak and basically still an average PG. Lin will be better than him, if not already. I don't know what is wrong with Calderon. He puts up pretty numbers but for some reason, guy is a career loser. Until he starts winning, to me he's another average PG. Another one... calm down and read. Just because someone doesn't consider Lin a top 10 PG doesn't mean they are dissing him.
Asik's hands have nothing to do with Lin's stupid decision making and inability to hit wide open shots. Trade both
No, but he would have had more options if he had a center he had confidence in. Also, that was his first year as a starter(and his first time playing a full season) he is going to make some mistakes. I'm not ready to trade him just yet, he has a good amount of potential.
I have to disagree here. Morey signed asik with the promise that he would pay him 5/5/15 mil a year to play basketball. Few GM's make promises to players (other than superstars) as to minutes and roles - mainly because that's not the GM's call. Asik played his ass off, true - he lived up to his part of the deal. And i'm sure all the checks cleared, so the rockets are living up to their part as well. In my opinion, Asik is going to be huge for us next year. Howard is prone to injuries and foul trouble. Having Asik means that when these issues arise, the wheels don't come off. And, just speaking in general terms now - I think trading Asik off just to get a PF who can hit 17 ft jump shots is a mistake. My random prediction is that if you put DMO out there to shoot wide open mid range jumpers when Dwight is double teamed, you'll get good production at a dirt cheap price and you'll still have Asik.
I just think he hates JLin..There was plenty of time when JLin pass the ball to Asik and he cant finish it, even when their was a wide opportunity to make the shot or dunk it..Did anyone forgot he made Tyson Chandler look so good? Dwight will be a perfect fit for JLin... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gwu8vIMQIi0
For Christ's sake, can we NOT make this another thread of chumps fighting over Lin's play, Lin's value, hell, what Jeremy likes for breakfast?
We don't even officially have Dwight yet. I'm ready to start training camp tomorrow like everyone else, but we still have to wait 4 months. Let them hang out, get in some practice together, bond. I think Asik would change his mind about leaving given long enough. I definitely don't think Morey would trade Asik unless Lin was part of a package, probably with DMo or TJones to sweeten the pot. I absolutely love the idea of getting LaMarcus, and Portland would have a great little upstart team around Lillard, but I highly doubt they trade him to the same conference
I second that. This team has much bigger things to worry about. I like Jeremy Lin for now, and am interested to see how he can do with Howard, but if there is a chance to bring over a star PG instead, or use him to trade for another star player at the 3, or 4... Im all for letting him walk.... But whats the point of recycling the same worn out arguments about him we have been hearing for a year now.
