Absolutely not true, throughout his NBA career he has gotten taken off the dribble by 2nd and even 3rd tier wings and outmuscled by bigger guys. He doesn't have the quickness to keep guys in front of him nor does he have the strength to physically overpower another player defensively. His defense, whether it be team or individual d, is terrible. There's no other way around it.

No, I'm just providing objective analysis as I usually do.

Any chance we retain Anderson to backup Harden?

Since Delfino was waived, the Rockets can't sign him (i think)

I think Morey is going after Fransisco Garcia for the vet minimum.

Omri could be a decent experiment, and I'm sure he didnt cost much.

I think Omri has some similarities to Parsons style of play (active on the court, runs the floor type, athletic, shooting, etc.) without the handles and passing, and lesser defense.

This could end up being a steal of a move. He making the minimum so there is really no risk.

Given how many open shots should be available, if he can regain the shooting touch of his first 2 years he can have a very Delfino like impact.

Worst case scenario its gives Morey a little salary flexibility at the deadline.

Delfino was not waived. His option was simply not exercised. So we can bring him back when healthy if he wants to take a pay cut.

Casspi is just here to provide depth and shooting. If/When we do bring back delfino i expect him to be relegated to a reserve role.

In that case, I certainly hope he likes going to the rim!

No, Delfino WAS waived. But they could still bring him back with the Room Exception or at the veteran's minimum (assuming that he has cleared waivers).

How is it a lateral move, we didn't trade anybody for Omri Casspi. If you mean that we let go of Delfino to get him .... maybe you're right, but Delfino didn't have size to play or defend PF. Omri is bigger, he's a different type of player.

Not a bad pick up. Hopefully a change in scenario was what he needed to reach his ceiling. Maybe he'll be motivated now. More depth.

He is able to fly ... that alone makes him more suitable.
I think Casspi still makes less than what White would be paid.

Veteran move and at least he can stay on the court for a limited time, does not tweet much.

In Israel they broadcast his games no matter what team he's on...being the first NBA player from a country with a population about the size of Chicago is a big deal.

He's on cereal boxes and all that. That makes a lot of casual fans have unrealistic expectations that would make even LOFs cringe. Still, Israelis are basketball crazy and many I know DO stay up until 5 AM to follow the NBA and are knowledgeable fans. One friend in particular who used to play in the Israeli League told me months ago that he thought Caspi would be a good fit for the Rockets' style of play and there was talk that the Rockets wanted him.

Still...he's survived multiple seasons in the NBA and it's a minimum contract. It's as low risk as they come. If he can get his confidence back even to his Kings days, he'll be useful off the bench, I'm guessing as a backup for Parsons (not too many minutes there). If not, he's a warm body to hustle in practice and easy to get rid of after the season. It's a very Morey kind of signing.
