I just want to post once again to reiterate the fact that we got Dwight FREAKING Howard!!!! For those who have been way too caught up in all the recent developments and his injury(which supposedly is fine now), these are Bill Simmons trade value piece in 2010 and 2011. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/two/110217 http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/100208/two Healthy Howard is instantly in the Lebron/Durant territory of players. Even 90% Howard is CP3/Westbrook/Harden territory. The media may talk bad about him now. But unless his injury issues is chronic, we're basically contenders for the duration of his contract(3 years before he likely opts out).
I heard from a very credible source that he is in amazing shape and poised to have a great comeback year
Thanks for the scoop. Remember he won the rebounding title last year coming back 4 months early from back surgery and suffered a torn labrum (shoulder muscle). Your back and shoulders are really important for rebounding! Asik narrowly lost the rebounding title to Howard last year. A healthy Howard and Asik together on court should give us a rebounding edge... Understatement! Not only that. But both these guys are premiere rim protectors! Some say we will have trouble guarding a stretch four but I'm thinking maybe we can play some kind of 2-3 zone. I'm no zone expert so maybe someone can help me out here. On offense, I'm not worried. Clog up the lane... Meh. I'm sure they'll work out a system. Lin, Harden and Parsons are not too shabby on offense and they'll bring their Kung fu punch. Look for Dwinght to get at least 3 touches in the post per quarter. So excited to see the TWIN TOWERS in action! I think we'll have the number one Defense (and defense wins chips) And we should remain top 5 in Offense.
What a homer! http://www.latimes.com/sports/basketball/nba/lakers/la-sp-plaschke-howard-20130706,0,3744757.column
If you really want to read anger, go to lakersground. Its nearly on par with the hate JLin got on the NY boards last year. One things for sure, the hatred is very strong in NBA fans. It doesnt just go away either, people have a long memory.
