Davis is their center of the future, I'm sure. Don't see how he and Asik together would make sense. That would be similar to Howard and Asik together.

Davis has a developing perimeter game. He's a young KG.

I believe they see Davis more as a 4, like Kevin Garnett.

They prefer to play Davis at the 4. I read an article where (either their coach or gm) said they prefer to develop him as a 4.

In frame, but KG had an offensive game early in his career. Davis isn't near as polished an offensive product as KG was early on. KG is a great comp for Davis to look forward to, but I don't see Davis as the guy who will ever lead his team in scoring for weeks/months/seasons at a time like KG did in his prime.

I agree that Anderson is the best fit for Houston with Howard and despite the reports that the Pelicans have never been interested in Asik(I agree, he doesn't seem like a fit next to Davis), I think if this team falters by mid season you could see the Pelicans trade off a non-essential part of their core to get cost under control. As it is, they are pretty much locked in with no cheap contracts and no cap flexibility for a while....although maybe they just ride it like most stubborn GMs who make bad decisions.

....also, in the back of my mind I can't help but wonder why we don't make a play at another sharp shooting 4 wasting away on a bench for peanuts who happens to be from Houston. I'll let you guys guess who I'm talking about.

This doesn't make sense for the Pelicans. And what I don't also get is the Tyreke Evans deal.

Pelican fans even don't think Asik should Swap with Ryan Anderson. They think Parson should be included and they have the leverage. Aweful. Heck Asik+Parson+picks could land us Love.

If Morey can't get the deal he wants right now Omer is just going to have to get over it.

Omer has to choices right now. Either pout or work on his jumper.

I just can't see Ryan Anderson as anything other than a slightly above average stretch 4. While Asik, on the other hand, is one of the top 5 rim protectors in the league.

Maybe teams smell desperation to move him & we're bound to not get back what he's really worth.

I can't agree with you that Anderson is only a "slightly above average stretch 4."

He led the league in three point field goals two seasons ago and was second this past season. His lifetime 3-point percentage is 38.4% even though opponents know that he's out there to shoot the three. That's only 1.1% lower than Reggie Miller, and defenders had to play a little looser on Miller since he could put it on the floor too. Anderson is money if he is open. He's going to be open a lot playing on this team. He isn't a slightly above average stretch four. He puts the "stretch" in "stretch four."

And by the way, playing beside Howard in 2011-12 he had the fifth-highest offensive win shares and fourth highest offensive rating in the league.

Parsons is untouchable. D12 would not let it happen, let alone Morey is not stupid.

You guys can't be serious. Ryan Anderson is terrible. Asik's value is extremely high right now and can be had for a bargain. No way we settle for Anderson. He is a great shooter, but relax with get over excited over this guy. I would rather go to war with D Mo.

I'm not saying we should necessarily make the trade (assuming it's available). I agree that rim protectors like Asik are very valuable, more valuable, in my mind, than a good stretch four. Maybe it makes sense to keep Asik to have 48 minutes of great rim protection. I'm just saying that Anderson is a good four, and great four in terms of his ability to stretch the floor--and, moreover, that he put up gaudy numbers playing alongside Howard in the past.
