Absolutely hate him and cringe whenever I watch JJ Barea play. Hate his mug. His b****ing. Moaning. Flailing. Flopping. But the punk can play, and has proven he can make a difference on the big stage. He was a big reason that Mavs won the championship. He was able to create his won shots. Can finish. Can shoot the 3. And is just an annoying little prick on defense that gets under everyone's skin he plays against. Interestingly Wolves are looking to trade him? http://fansided.com/2013/07/06/nba-...-want-to-trade-j-j-barea-to-dallas-mavericks/ Any truth to this rumor? Would love for the Rockets to get into the mix. He is exactly the hard nosed kind of douche-bag that the Rockets need. Our own Derek the Prick Fisher.
For what he's making? Hell no. 9 million left on his contract for 2 more years. I'd rather have Nate Robinson who is a similar player to Barea, and also a lot cheaper. The only players I want from Minnesota are Love or Rubio.
I'd rather get billups to help our young guys. Barea is an expensive back up. If we trade Lin though, Barea/Bev would be nice.
I think the playoff experience Robinson had going crazy last year in the playoffs and the fact he's not signed yet is a little strange. If you get Robinson for the min I'd go with him. Barrea sounds a little overpriced for our team. It looks like Maury is highly leveraging the Dwight signing to get people to come here on the cheap.
He's on the block for a reason and I'm from Minnesota. We tried to use him as a backup point but he can't run an offense. All he does is look for his own shot... which is all well and good if that's the role you put him in but if he's not in that role he's rather terrible. He's a professional and a good player in the locker room though, no complaints there. He's also getting overpaid and I don't think he fits the Rockets. You have Lin + Bev solidly taking all the PG minutes and so what would you do with JJ? Play JJ with Bev? Both Bev and JJ are hugely undersized at PG, so one would have to play at SG. Would be terrible.
I'd choose the other one, AK47. If the Rockets can free up the cap give AK47 a big 1 year deal. AK47, Dwight, & Asik = best bigman rotation on defense in the NBA
I don't think that teams have to have a heart nose guy to win big. I actually think sometimes it can ruin a teams chemistry (like Kendrick Perkins to OKC)
our pg position is filled unless its an upgrade. Got a good Pg in Lin, Very good off the bench from Patrick, and future prospect Caanan. we're set at the PG. But you'r eright, I also like him too. I really wish we could get Derek Fisher though, man he knows all of the tricks in the book. I wouldn't mind picking up fisher even with all of our point guards.
