You don't have to agree that he should come off the bench. I don't even think he should come off the bench. Difference is I didn't jump to call the guy a hater or ABJ because the idea isn't that crazy and I can understand how it might be beneficial.
Bev is just a high energy guy off the bench. I have seen him run the offense to the ground for many time last season. If HD is your PG, then you can start him.
So, since D12 and Lin would have no problem whatsoever, you're still talking about last season, the ball being in Harden's hand rather than Lin. I have said it many times and I will say it again. Last season was an anomaly because the trade happened after training camp. They didn't have time to put things together so they resorted to this kind of hero-ball. Another factor is that Harden was a backup turned first time starter and he had to prove to people that he belongs in the upper echelon in this league. Well, he was exhausted by the end of the season and was accused by the coach as "sticky". So next season, with a training camp, the offense is probably not going to be the same. Harden will be more mature and Lin will be improved. Lin is best to be the facilitator instead of the main scorer. With D12 his scoring will be minimized but his passing would be great for the team. You do have a point though, that bench would be real strong and it's really not such a bad idea. Let's see how much Lin's 3pt shooting has improved next season.
Really hope what you said was the fact. I don't know personally. But Lin needs to be more aggressive and have the ball more instead of Harden Hero Ball all the time. Maybe Lin can show us how someone like him can coexist with James Harden, clearly the team's leader.
Asik backing up Howard makes sense. Lin backing up Beverly doesn't. If we get a CP3, Wade, or a healthy Rose , or anyone in the top 10, then I'm 100% on board with Lin being the 6th man. Until then, it's all fan talk
Jlin doesnt play well with harden. Well see how the chemistry will be with Howard before I make judgement on who starts. Beverly is solid holding the starting point position with his hard play. I'll give jlin a chance to redeem himself with howard for 1 more season before passing judgement.
People should all agree at the very least that Lin is starting material. The guy put up 13/6 behind Harden and Parsons. That puts him squarely in the middle to lead of Tier 3 PG's. That is undeniably starting material. The biggest question with Jeremy is how much can we expect him to improve, not if he will improve. With his work ethic, he WILL improve, but how much? Specifically, how much of his off-the-ball game can he improve since we have both Harden and Howard on the team now. All the while, keeping up the ability to run PnR as well as transitional offense. Those 2 he is great and good at. His off the ball game still needs work. Maybe now that we got Howard, we will see greater defensive effort by Harden as well since he doesn't have to do nearly as much on the offensive end. I would like to see more of a return of the off the ball game that Harden showed in OKC playing off KD and WB.
