this is the bottom line.....who makes Dwight Howard more effective..Harden/Bev at the guard spots...or Harden/Lin?? THe answer is obvious. Plus everyone keeps harping on Bev's godlike defense..that's more reason for him to come off the bench cause Dwight will likely be getting rest. If Lin gets beat off the dribble, Dwight is there to patrol the paint. If Lin comes off the bench, who's going to be guarding the rim when he's out there?
JVG a very good league source and somebody that follows the Rockets closer than the other league sources disagrees. He stated yesterday that Lin is underrated.
exactly, it's the same sources who people spent the better part of yesterday ridiculing around here!!! But when it comes to Jeremy Lin...they must be 100% right!!! In truth though on first take, Stephen A Smith himself said he though Lin would become a star in a couple years.
Lin is better than Beverley but I don't think it's as crazy as you make it out to be. Harden is the primary ball handler when they are on the floor together. Lin duplicates a lot of the same things that Harden does. When Jeremy is on he can carry a team with his offense. But lets face it, if he spends the majority of his time on the court with both D12 and Harden then his offense ability will be greatly minimized. With Jeremy off of the bench he could still average 30 plus minutes a game and still spend a great deal of time with Harden or D12 or both on the court. But if he was coming off of the bench he would either be the featured offensive weapon or the 2nd option more often than not. Plus... a bench that features Lin, Cisco and Asik is strong. Damn Strong.
Let's face it. Lin is better than Bev at everything except man-to-man defence. Do I think Lin is a star? NO! Do I think he has the potential to become one? YES! Do I think Bev sucks? NO! Do I think he has the potential to become a starter material? YES! Fact: Lin is a better player than Bev and will start next season
He's gotta be 18-8 !!! YOu can't win with these guys. They'd rather have a mediocre PG who does awesome for a 4 million a year salary than Jeremy Lin who at this point is slightly above average at 8 million. They can cite all the gm's they want. Daryl Morey signed him here to be the starting PG, do they want to go with that, or whatever other GM's that feel differently?? Not saying other gm's can't be right, time will tell. But to go with that as gospel even if they said it, is ridiculous. Look at the NBA...there might be only 8-10 gm's that even know what they're doing.
Hey yo. What are you talking about??? Read the comments again. Where are these loonies you think you see in every thread? So if everyone doesn't agree that Lin should go of be benched, they are fanboys? Stop instigating like you always seem to.
to win a championship you need a consistency in your line up,why break up the one that is working?we just made the playoff last year w/ only one star in the team, why even bringing up Beverley to start,?he's a good player but if you watch a basketball for a long time, you know that he's not a starter,a good back up that brings up energy, that's it.We just added a very good and arguably the best center in the league, why not continue what is working and tweaked a little bit to become a championship contender. And if your a Rockets fan,you will support whatever is in your team,at this time Jlin is the starter.
Lol I would start PB against OKC over Lin any day. I have a feeling you don't want PB to start in the NBA only for his own security a few elbows to the face and spears to the legs. Harden and Lin together have played great when they share the ball, its just iso Harden mode where Lin becomes ineffective.
