The thing about him is that he play smart basketball and has the ability to attack and shoot. Although under Cleveland he doesn't shoot that well but in Sacramento, he's shooting at a pretty good rate. The thing i like about him is that he has a fire in him and he play w/ fire....like Garcia.

lol...but see they think Garcia is a better player...and hence why they gave Garcia the player option. For Garcia, it is all about the chance at winning a title. With Casspi, it is about a 1 year cheap rental or trade-able asset in the future(midseason). This allows them to add a FA(from overseas) or a player from the DLeague to the roster if they are forced to package Casspi in a deal.

    Nice one.

Very cheap, still has some upside, 2nd year team option why not?

I must say he seems a little stiff tho.

The deal is the same as Garcia's but Casspi's 2nd year is a Team option rather than a player option.... Both took Vet Minimums, so our ROOM EXCEPTION is still intact.... C. Brewer anyone?

That would solidify this team, if we choose not to trade Asik and Lin.

    What do you guys think?!

Omri Casspi? Daryl, you're getting players that nobody wanted! - DH*

    :p

*The 2008-09 Magic squad he led to the NBA Finals was "a team full of people who nobody wanted, and I was the leader, and I led that team with a smile on my face."

Personally I would rather trade Asik to Philly for that New Orleans first round pick... That way Asik goes somewhere he can start and we get a lottery pick in next year's draft that could be a starting quality player on a rookie contract.

I agree Anderson isn't better and or equal value to Asik and I think in the long run TJ and D-Mo will be better (playing next to Howard). Guys like Anderson and Josh Smith, although I like them _ their playoff numbers aren't worth it. Anderson's 3 point shooting sucks in the playoffs and Smith offensive numbers aren't worth the money. Those are good regular season players though.

Funny thing- The Lakers technically helped us get Dwight Howard.

One of the picks we traded to the Thunder for Harden, was Dallas's 1st round pick, which the Lakers got from Dallas from the Odom trade. We got the pick from the Lakers for Jordan Hill!

~lol~ Na, I don't think that's fair. However, if someone devotes several hours a day posting venom in every single thread related to him, then we could make a case.

TJ can also play small forward. He can actually play positions 3, 4, and 5 and he has handles because he was a point guard up till he got to college.

You know it's possible Garcia could be Harden's backup because I believe he's naturally a shooting guard.

Casspi is very under the radar type of player. He kind of disappeared after CLE. He probably doesn't have other choices, frankly. Low risk, High reward.

I hope all these negative posts are a reverse jinx and Casspi will be a really good for us next season. In that case, Casspi is horrible!

I don't have a problem with this since it's for the vet min. Get Casspi's confidence back up and you're talking about a valuable role player that can shoot and rebound.
