TEAM NEEDS to establish an identity. Every player 1-4 ABSOLUTELY needs to be able to make buckets from distance. Make other teams pay for overplaying Dwight and Harden. We're the ROCKETS, we need to be able to make the 3s FLYYY
A back up shooting guard, Harden needs more rest since he would be taking more of a beating with teams concentrating on him.
I am intrigued by bringing in Tobias Harris at Power Forward, but that would be difficult to do, with the whole salaries deal and how much the Magic like him.
Our biggest needs are a starting PF, (in some people's opinion) a new starting PG, a backup 2, and possibly a backup 5. Obviously we know the names available for PG and PF right now but here are some targets for backup centers and shooting guards: Wes Johnson Rip Hamilton Gary Neal Wayne Ellington Corey Brewer Randy Foye Roger Mason Jr. Sam Dalembert Chris Kaman Chris Andersen (I don't see him bolting Miami but he's gotta be here) Byron Mullens Honestly, I think we should attempt to bring in Wes Johnson and Dalembert or Kaman. Dalembert is getting older and may take the other half of our MLE away. We could bring in Wes Johnson on a 2 year deal similar to what Garcia got. We could trade Lin away for cash and sign Mo Williams or Jarrett Jack. I know most people are opposed to that but I am just keeping all possibilities open.
Lin/Bev/Canaan Harden/Anderson Parsons/Garcia/Omri Dmo/Smith/Jones Howard/Asik Then there's Ohlbrecht...so that's 14. I still don't like the youth and inexperience at PG. Billups, anyone? We're definitely set at SG, SF, and C. I think the PF spot works itself out before the season, although there's definitely room to upgrade.
I've been saying this the whole time. I got yelled at because I suggested we get a veteran PG. We need one. Chauncey would be the perfect fit if healthy. I suggested Andre Miller and was immediately shut down. We'd have to trade for him though. It might be a bit harder that way.
It's still crazy to me that we can put Howard in at C and it actually be a reality. Friggin Superman on the Rockets.
We need a Veteran PG like Chancey Billups or Keyon Dooling. We can use a stretch 4 like Ryan Anderson. Hopefully T.Jones or D.Mo will merge into that stretch 4 that we need.
We have full package. Howard/Asik/Smith TJones/DMo/(Smith) Parsons/Garcia/Covington Harden/Anderson/(Garcia) Lin/Beverley/Canaan Great backup with Asik, Lin is pretty good passer and Dwight should love it. Weakness is power forward position, and if DMo can shoot 3pt better he may start next season. I see no weakness offensively, we may beat everyone with this roster.
