Asik will be a disgruntled player if he stays and gets sent to the bench. Bye bye team chemistry. Start him with Howard and the Rockets will be pure $hit shooting wise (as others have said).

Papanikolaou will be better for this team than Ryan Anderson, great vision (steals & passing) and likes to run. A younger Delfino type (tough, hustle, smart & 3 ball) with actual length to spend some time at 4 spot should Rockets want to play small.

    Ryan Anderson. Good player.

But just to be clear, he is NOT, NOT worth Asik.

Ryan Anderson for Asik is a POOR VALUE trade. Need more assets from the Pelicans to make that trade.

Just because Anderson might be a "good fit" next to Howard, don't take less value in a trade.

I am not to familiar with Ilyasova, but defensively can he guard the big 4's like Andersen can(underrated defensively).

It would be nice to have Howards buddy playing next to him. That floor is going to be wide open LOL.

You're underestimating the value of a knock down stretch four that rebounds well

Get a first or some picks for him and dump Lin as well, giving you room to grab another impactful FA.

I think Ilyasova is not only a more effective rebounder than Anderson, but also a better overall player. He's a year younger, and his contract is about 1m less per year. We should definitely be going for Ersan if the Bucks would be interested.

This guy is also a pretty clutch player, and deadly from three.

Just have to think how easy it will be for Harden and Howard with that shooting around them.

Would Asik be a need for the Bucks? I obviously could care less about Milwakee basketball LOL.

I have been very vocal in my opposition to us acquiring Josh Smith.

That said, I'm up in the air on this one. Part of me is thinking he's great for spacing, a knockdown shooter and a proven commodity (unlike the rest of our PF options), but the the other part of see's a tremendous defensive liability and a player that disappears at times who's owed considerable (but not crazy) money over the next three years. He's slow and doesn't really fit the uptempo mold that we've been deploying.

All things considered, I think I'd pass on this one.

I think it's closer to fair value than you are giving it credit. Asik isn't bringing LMA, Love or Bosh types by himself. And Anderson is a deadly stretch 4. Best one in the league other than Love.

Yeah kind of. Larry Sanders is more of a power forward. So if they did acquire Asik, they'd slide Sanders to the 4.

You aren't going to get a complete PF straight up for Asik, remember that. If you want the best offensive fit, take Anderson. If you want the best defensive fit, get Smith.

Thats a nice defensive lineup im assuming.

They lost out on Ellis, or will. That then lets them tank, where they can compete with Charlotte for Wiggins/Parker/some other stud.

Would be a good team years down the road.

Good points but you could also stand pat and wait for a better opportunity to present itself in February.
