I heard Clutch say on 790 that Ryan Anderson was his choice for PF acquisition. Agree. Best three-point shooting available. Keep that floor spread, and hope Dwight sets a record for put-backs.

It's a 1 year pay cut for Cisco. After this year the Rockets will have his early bird rights which means they can pay him the league average ($5m) assuming Morey decides he wants to bring him back.

So for Cisco, if he wants to play for the Rockets this should definitely win him some good will with the Rockets FO.

And don't be shocked if some of the other players end up coming back to the Rockets at some point. :)

Morey gave Stevie Franchise a player option.

YES YES YES!!! Between him and Delfino...i actually want him first because he shoots just as well as Delfino and the thing is he's a hell of a defender which is what the Rockets need. I am happy to see him back and happy that for him.

Wow, can't believe we got him back at the minimum. Great signing and says a lot about him for wanting to stay and play for a winner. Also props to one of our resident insiders for giving us the scoop on this awhile ago:

Unfortunately we can't actually re-sign Delfino yet as we waived him vs declining Garcia's option.

    Just a different situation.

We have a contender for the next 5+ yrs

We'll be the anti Miami and able to pick up the vet difference makers off the bench

    So awesome

That's a great point. Good catch.

However, he can't clear waivers and qualify for the early bird's rights. And to sign him to that league minimum deal, he's gonna have to clear waivers. So, that won't work. However...if we retain his Birds rights by signing-and-trading for Dwight then it could work.

On that note, I'm still going to question this deal slightly. Remember, the Room MLE is a little over $2.6 mill per season. I still think Garcia's value is around that figure. I'm still shocked and will remain shocked if it is actually the league minimum <$1.3 mil per season and not the Room MLE figure of $2.6 mil per season.

Great post. Of your SGs I like Rip. he could be a real spark off the bench.

But is Tony Allen still available?

Can you imagine Dwight and Asik on the floor at the same time! Number 1 and 2 rebounders in the league!

Waivers don't apply to Cisco since we declined his contract option. It's not different than declining an option and renegotiating a higher contract except in this case we negotiated a vet minimum contract (no impact on cap or exceptions) and we still retain the bird right counter.

Waivers DO apply to Delfino as we waived him. Delfino would need to clear waivers, and I believe his bird rights will reset unless we trade to get him back.
