Why? We have a similar but cheaper and younger version in Parsons. I realize parsons is more of a traditional 3 and Ersan plays some minutes at the 4 but he's really a 3 as well. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Asik. Centers are a premium. Backup centers like Asik if he sticks around are an absolute luxury to the fullest extent. I don't know why everyone is so hung up on a "stretch 4". Leave the stretching for positions 1-3 and specialists off the bench. Just find a traditional 4 that bangs, rebounds, hopefully can block shots and has a 15 foot jumper. Said PF doesn't have to be able to stretch it out to 3pt land.

He is 6'10, can shoot inside and outside, can rebound, has post moves. He does all these good, under good management great. Check after Bucks coach change.

Anderson's WS/48 was through the roof when he played with Howard. It was one of the highest for the Hornets last year as well. J Smoove's, on the other hand, is shockingly low for a supposed max-level player. I'd take Anderson at half price any day.

One thing you have to consider is a player's ego. With that in mind, I think Anderson would fit better in this team as he wouldn't demand as many touches than Smith. What do you guys think?

can probably close this thread really. Stein tweeting that on good authority: this convo is not happening and Pelicans have "no interest" in Asik.

This. How bad is he on defense?

Almost wish we could somehow trade for PPat again. He would work as a 4 with Howard.

Maybe we we find a way to clear Lin off our cap and trade Sac a pick for Pat.

Have it on strong authority Pelicans not only haven't talked to Rockets about Asik sign-and-trade but likewise have no interest in him

It never made sense.Davis is a younger version of Asik with better offensive touch. You don't start Davis and Asik together.

We may be able to get a better player for Asik, but Ryan Anderson fits our team to a T.

Had huge games playing next to Dwight, and played at an all-star level at times. He is a poor man's Kevin Love.

The source of that RealGM news piece is given to Berger's Twitter and Berger was very unreliable during the recent Great Dwight-pectation.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>As of now, Rockets have no deals in place and no plans for deals, source says.</p>&mdash; Ken Berger (@KBergCBS) <a href="https://twitter.com/KBergCBS/statuses/353521930617360387">July 6, 2013</a></blockquote>

Exactly, and after the Dwightmare fiasco that we just had with all that bs reporting. We know not to trust the media.

For some reason, I think Dwight wants Asik here. He's been battling injuries the last few years, notably his back and shoulder. Having Asik is almost a necessity to get the most out of Dwight without him breaking down.
