We had to give Philly assets in order to induce them to take White off of our hands. This player actually had negative value. What a complete disgrace.
I'm cool with that if that's the way it turns out. Big picture is we got DWIGHT and got rid of Royce. Epic win regardless how good Furkin A turns out.

I bet White doesn't even suit up for Philly's summer league team (and not by his choice but mgmt saying "stay home"). His contract expires after this yr, and the reason they were willing to trade for him was the assets/cash.
Royce did suck something fierce in a way never seen before. But come on - happier to get rid of Royce than get Dwight? Deal of the Decade? Celebrate but don't elevate it THAT much I don't think Morey trolled Royce. People might be seeing what they want to see. Morey's probably still on Dwight Cloud 9 to even care to send jabs.

Wonder the terms of the 2nd round pick, is it a REAL pick? Does anyone know? Or if its like the Steve Francis dump-off (which I figured dealing Royce would be like), trading for a pick thats so restricted that its never gonna happen, AKA - dumping players for NOTHING in return. Thats always the fear, that you'll be on the losing end of the deal letting young players blossom in another place. I think Aldemir MIGHT can replenish some of what they traded away in Vucevic, though Aldemir is a tweener 4/5. Really in this trade, Royce White is more like the "Jackie Butler" in it than V-Span. If it was apples-to-apples, V-Span woulda actually came TO the Rockets along WITH Scola. And Spurs actually did get a 2nd round pick from Rockets in the Scola-VSpan trade: Nando De Colo at #53 in 2009. So its not like the Spurs came away TOTALLY empty (Which is what I HOPE can happen for the Rockets. I'll take a Nando De Colo for Royce White)
