Wouldn't put it past Morey planning ahead in signing McHale, though I think it was more due to McHale ceding most of his power to the front office. Good thing Howard isn't a good judge in coaches, though.
People may hate his coaching, but there is no arguing that the man played a significant part in bringing howard to houston.
that's the same thing as iso ball. hakeem's entire career is iso ball. but, post iso ball>>>>>>>>>>>>perimeter iso ball
Nah. You can always kick out if the defense collapse down load. But with Harden, he plays around outside the arc til five seconds left and try to beat his man one on one. It was such ugly basketball.
Not to mention that Parsons was a big recruiter of Dwight, and during his interview with Jim Rome he said that McHale was his favorite coach that he ever played for.
but, but, but.... he waits too long to sub Jeremy Lin back in during 4th quarters. Would rather have D'Antoni.
who knows....didnt he have kareem out in LA? and Kobe and Nash both play great with bigs during their careers.
The turning point for me with McHale was how determined he was after his daughter passed. So easy to give up after that. Good leader of men.
ive been hard on mchale but he made me a believer in game 2 of the playoffs, thought he also outcoached brooks for the remainder of the series..
McHale and Dwight is just like a perfect marriage for a reason! Dwight and McHale are both hungry for a title on an individual effort! Rockets will kick ass next season! here goes my season tickets!!
Can't people just understand that chemistry isn't built overnight? Harden came in with NO training camp, he was our clear leader and superstar and Jeremy coming back from his knee surgery was noticeably struggling to get to the rim, low on confidence and all that. Once he returned to full strength, got his jumper corrected, he was very good in the second half of the season, which frankley points to Lin's lack of production having alot to do with his hot and cold aggressiveness and lack of confidence in his jumper. Yes, McHale could've run more sets/let it flow more through Lin, but are you really gonna do that when you have James freaking Harden? Who essentially does everything Lin does except at a truely elite level? When Jeremy got his shiit together he was a good point guard with a very serviceable 3pt shot. IMO it's just as bad to crap on Lin and denigrate him for injury affected start/beginning as it is to crap on McHale for not giving Lin free reign.
Talk about about prematurely investing in a possibility and planting a seed way ahead of schedule based on a gut feeling and self confidence... makes you wonder doesn't it? Morey is , simply put, the man. We did this the right way. We didn't tank. We played hard and the hard work paid off from all facets of the organization. From the owner, management, players, training staff to the ushers... Hell, even the ticket scalpers in front of Toyota Center. Good Job GM Daryl Morey. I salute you. I owe Daryl Morey a reach-around. Or two... Besides following him on Twitter, I would follow him into the basement of Hell submerged in Gasoline.
