I wish I could get a vegas line on kobe finishing his career in San Antone. There's no way he's going to suffer in irrelevance for his last 2 or 3 years.
I love Dwight for not taking Kobe's crap. He wanted to be happy, wants to win. I'm DH12's biggest fan and glad he got out of Faker town. Hate them so much.
You better pray Dwight sticks his ass with McHale and Dream every day until the season starts to get his game to another level or else he's not going to win anything. This is an opportunity he needs to relish. Dwight is turning 28. This is his best opportunity.
Really interested in what the Lakers do now. I guess they'll trade Gasol, maybe try to dump MWP with him. The only question is, where? I don't see much of a market for him now. Maybe at the deadline?
As of now, who's on their roster? Because to the best of knowledge, if the season started today, this is their lineup: Sacre/Hill Gasol/Ebanks MWP/Jamison Meeks/Goudelock Nash/Blake/Duhon/Morris
Who is really going to sign with the Lakers in 2014? Bosh is going to jump from one of the most unselfish leaders of all time to go play with old ass Kobe? I don't think so!
Half of those guys are gone, ha. Steve Nash | Steve Blake Kobe Bryant | Jodie Meeks Metta World Peace Jordan Hill | Ryan Kelly Pau Gasol | Robert Sacre And maybe Gasol or MWP is amnestied. That said, the offseason kinda just started.
I'm not saying these people will sign with the Lakers but I believe most of these are free agents by then. Lebron Melo Kevin Love Chris Bosh Obviously a lot more but all I could think of. The only person I could see jumping the ship is Kevin Love.
Why would they trade Gasol if his contract expires next summer? I can see them maybe trying to dump Nash because he's basically the only guaranteed salary they have for 2014/15. Every other player on their roster comes off the books next summer.
I know, I know. A lot can change. I'm just kind of in shock. For as long as I can remember the Lakers were dominant, or at the very least in a solid position for the future. I'm just kind of in shock I guess. I forgot about the amnesty, I just figured that they might try to get some return for Pau in the form of draft picks or youth (they have very little of both). I don't know where they could trade Nash to, except maybe Sacramento. If his contract was smaller, maybe they could waive him and a contender could pick him up and pay the rest of the tab. But, given the current state of the NBA landscape with so many capable point guards, I don't see much of a market for Nash. Also, I'm not sure how much the Lakers could improve from free agency. Save Lebron and Melo, there's few guys in that class that could completely carry a franchise, and I don't see either leaving their current places. The Lakers might be able to bring in a 2nd tier guy and some role players, but I think if they want to return to championships they'll do it through drafting.
kevin love signing with his hometown seems like an easy call. they'd need a LOT more than him to contend though.
