Class move by Dwight to meet with Mitch and tell him like a man. From what I've read, Kupchak is a class guy and he deserved that respect.
SO DWIGHT NEVER REALLY SAID IT WAS 50-50, **** YOU ESPN. Killing his image. what, tell me how my ass tastes?
Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA Dwight Howard's plan was always to meet with the Lakers a final time and tell Mitch Kupchak of his decision.
Okay, that's what I thought would happen. I didn't think even Dwight would do something like changing his mind.
No, he threw **** at the wall. He was right that Dwight was headed to LA...likely to close out a few loose ends (friends, babymamas, etc) and tell Mitch he's out face to face or as close to it as possible. It seems this whole thing was just a few media people drumming up more hits and it worked.
Media making Dwight look worse than he is....they did the same thing to him last year. It's never as bad as it seems.
To Kennedy's credit, he wasn't nearly as dramatic about it as Broussard was. He was being told its not official yet. IMO... I think this all had to do with the Rockets getting the Royce White deal approved by the league to be able to give Dwight the full max. That's what the delay had to be about.
Honestly, this whole '50/50' bull**** was worth it just to instill that last little bit of hope on lakersground and then have it snatched away.
Dwight was calling every team in the sweepstakes and telling them they were out. He felt it would right to personally tell the Lakers org. that they were out too.
