It's self inflicted. If he would've just publicly announced, we wouldn't all be going through this and the media would have nothing to play with.
Could this just be a planted story by Dwight's agents in order to facilitate a S&T? Seems very plausible at this stage.
Thoughts This. If he was going back to the Lakers then he would've informed the Rockets that he wasn't going there (like what happened with Dallas & Golden State). He feels he owes Mitch Kupchak the respect of a face-to-face meeting informing him of his intent to sign with Rockets. The "media" & their speculation are the worst. Will be glad when this is done.
Broussard is that kid that constantly talks up rumors just to be included in any discussion to stay popular. Changes his story and continues to say things until he gets it right. This guy would have been fired in his first year as a reporter if he worked at a legit news corporation.
True, they know Dwight can't sign until the 10th. Redeem your rep Dwight. We only care about the Lakers.
Explain the logic behind that? The team he is going to has enough cap to sign him outright. Why would he go to his former team and demand a sign and trade, helping hos former team out, all the while depleting his new team of assets to assemble a better team around him?
ehh...thats not his fault. the media needs to stop jumping the gun to be the first to report. who's to say dwight hasn't made up his mind and doesn't even decide until the 10th? the media herd stick together...if they're all going down, they'll just blame it on the player being indecisive. not to say dwight hasn't brought it on himself from his past. in this instance though...not sure i can find fault with dwight
Brian Schmitz @MagicInsider 2 minutes ago Wait. Dwight's just discovering he can make more money in L.A.? Not buying it. If he meets with Lakers tonight, Houston's lost him. Read more: http://hoopshype.com/twitter/media.html#ixzz2YESKvcAp
I reeeeeeeaally hope you're right. Seems entirely plausible. Broussard and Kennedy can eat a big bag of (_)_)==Dicks.
If it were a S&T, couldn't the Rockets actually sign him to the 5th year that is apparently the entire hold up right now (i.e. the $30M)? If not, then yes, it doesn't make any sense.
This is what you get with a player who comes straight out of high school...he does not have any decision making skills.
