Josh Smith use to live on the Lofts on Post Oak a few years ago during the summer. He was always spotted at the Lifetime Fitness in Sugarland with Hakeem.

Who am I to rag on Woj, but this makes no sense.

If he doesn't want to be a back-up, why does he want to return to Chicago where he would be... a back-up to Noah? He's already been there and done exactly that.

    Bring it on...

    Lin
    Harden
    Parsons
    J.Smith
    Howard

Hoping for two more years of dumping on Lin haters!

Welcome Howard fans to Clutch Fans. Don't worry about the hate, we still got Lin.

    Smith also pushing Pistons.

What can we offer Blazers for LMA? Robin Lopez will make things difficult for him to get traded, we'll need more than 1 trading partner if we want that done, which requires a bit more creativity.

You can't really blame Asik for wanting out. The man went from coming off the bench in Chicago to becoming a legit starting center...now he'll have to play second fiddle and come off the bench again behind Dwight. He's proven himself in the league and he can definitely start at C for pretty much every team in the league.

Really interested to see who leaves with Asik. Most people had assumed Lin was a must-go as well to grab Smith but now it seems like we might not even have to include him. With 2 non-shooters in Dwight and Smith...would Lin be a good fit? I guess he may go in a separate trade. Calderon as a replacment? Better shooter but worse defender than Lin... but his crappy D would be mitigated with Dwight/Smith anchoring the paint.

Edit - Ugh, had 2 tabs opened...meant to post this in the Asik unhappy thread...oh well, still applies.

I really do not want Smith, he is one of the most overated players in the league.

Lin - I think he would benefit from playing with a catch and dunk guy like Howard - he would thrive with him.

I not a fan either. But it can work out. Can Smith leave his undisciplined 20 foot shot attempts in Atlanta? We don't need those.

I kinda doubt that Jsmooth signs for Asik's salary (8.3M). We would have to send Lin unless we could throw White +Jones/Motie at them.

Why would the Wolves give us Aldridge for Lin and Asik when they have Rubio and Pekovic? Portland has Lillard and Lopez, and I don't think Asik is anywhere near enough to land Aldridge. We would have to at least throw in Parsons and that would get the conversation started.

Gasol and Howard did not work out in LA. Why would it work out here? He is old and slow and you need either a quick, defensive big who can handle the ball and pass (Smith), or one who can knock down open threes (Smith should improve this aspect of his game if he ends up in Houston).

We cannot really add another player on Smith's level after this off-season if you think about it. It makes sense and it improves the Rockets defense more than you think.

You can take back up to 150% in salary after a S/T, so if we throw in a 1-2 Mil contract, he can get around $15 mil

i'm looking forward to his pnr offense, though. would work well w/ Lin, like what he did with Tyson Chandler in NY.
